third person point of view
"ashton, you've had enough. now stop," calum grabs a glass of vodka from ashton's hand. ashton extends his arm, trying to grab the glass from calum's clutches. "no, ashton, stop! oh god. you can barely walk right now."
"give meeee... that's my drink!" ashton giggles and hiccups several times. "don't be a meany caaaal. i'm still thirstyyy."
"i can see that." calum mumbles, looking sympathetically at his drunken friend whose still giggling uncontrollably. "i think it's about time we get back to the bus. isn't it? we have a bunch of interviews tomorrow."
"nooooooooo," ashton whined. calum just grabbed his arm and dragged him to the door of the bar they were at. when they stepped out, the paparazzi stood taking pictures of the bassist in his sober state and the drummer in his drunken state. these pictures would for sure end up everywhere. calum could picture it now.
'5SOS MEMBERS, CALUM HOOD AND ASHTON IRWIN STUMBLE OUT OF BAR, DRUNK, IN LOS ANGELES.'
calum wasn't drunk though. he needed to take care of his best mate, who was emotionally unstable at the moment. he was beating himself up over the fact that he made his best friend who was back home in australia, cry at the mere mention of him. he never wanted her to cry, fuck he hated it when she cried, because it hurt him as much as it hurt her. in every way possible. emotionally, mentally, physically.
"caluuuummmm, let gooooo of meeeee." ashton dragged out. calum protested and continued to walk him and his friend to their tour bus that was supposed to leave in half and hour.
"god, i shouldn't have let you drink." calum mutters under his breath. and to most peoples surprise, ashton hears him.
"well im sorry i needed to forget!" he shouted, finally getting out of the bassists grip. calum looked taken aback by ashton's sudden outburst.
"ash. you need to calm down." calum spoke, stopping with ashton in the middle of the sidewalk, paparazzi huddled around them.
"calm down? calm down?! how am i supposed to do that when i made her cry? when she's thousands of miles away from me, and i don't know what the hell she could be doing to herself. she coul- oh my god. s-she could be. no." ashton was raising his voice with each word he spoke, hot tears forming at the brims of his eyes.
"ash! stop it. you're causing a scene!" calum had raised his voice as well, to catch his bandmates attention, as he gestured around them at the paparazzi and fans flooding the sidewalk of downtown los angeles. he reached out and grabbed ahold of ashton's arm trying to pull him away from the gossip seeking people.
"get your hands off of me!" he shouted, not even realizing that in that moment he had cranked his right arm back before plunging it forward right into calum's nose as he turned around. calum's hand flew off of ash as he stumbled back into a brick wall, clutching his now gushing nose.
ashton was shocked by his own actions as he looked between his now bruising knuckles and cal's bloodied hands and face. because never ever had he thought he would ever punch calum hood.
