*Rhylen*I dressed up for court and smoothed the black skirt that Will's wife Carla let me borrow. She was a sweety probably around the same age as Will and they had two kids and another one on the way. I buttoned up the white dress shirt and slipped on the jacket. My hair hung loose over my shoulders as it often did. Carla applied some make up to my eyes. Less than I would've put but more enough that i looked presentable. I pulled on black flat dress shoes. I hated heels and didn't want to wear them if I could avoid it. I sighed looking at myself in the mirror. It didn't even look like me. I looked like....sadly my mother. Should I do this? Doesn't matter, it was too late to back out now. Why mom? Why did you do this? Why are you going to put me through this. I often had nightmares of the night back at my house. I seen the bloodly knife in my hand. I didn't know it was a knife! I didn't know. I meant to knock the wind out of her. I was searching with a blind eye i wasn't sure what I grabbed. Her hands were around my neck I was trying to breathe. The memories flashed through my head and I wiped a stray tear. Carla put her hand on my shoulder.
"You ready?" She asked.
I sighed looking at myself one last time in the mirror.
"Yeah I guess."
As we sat in the car I stayed silent and Will glanced at me and then backto the road. He told me I was able to have one chance to talk to my mom and he wanted to know if I wanted to speak to her. I thought hard about that. What would I say? Beg her not to put her only daughter through this. Why was she doing this? What was going on in her delusional head? Why was she trying to get me to go to prison? Did she want to see me behind bars? Did she really hate me that much? What happened to the sweet woman who would call me every one in a while? I wanted everything to work out. I wished there was an easy way out of all of this. But that was crazy to think about, what easy way? There was no easy way. Why couldn't I have just been a normal girl, if only right? I ran a hand through my hair nervously. I glanced up in the rear view mirror
"Yes I'd like to speak to her."
Will nodded and the car ride continued and no one said a word. This trial was going to change everything. And it could swing in my favor or I could be doomed to a fate in prison. That was all up for the jury to decide what my fate would be. I closed my eyes and waited for us to arrive at the court house.

When we pulled up Will got out and opened the door for me and I stepped out. The building was huge, it was funny I had lived here all my life and never been downtown. Then again I hadn't really been anywhere. I wasn't exactly what you would call a social butterfly. Carla came up to me and put her hands on my shoulders and looked in my eyes.
"Take a deep breath. Shake off the nerves. You heard your lawyer just be calm and be strong. Everything will be okay. Will and I will be there the whole time" she told me.
I did as she said. It was easier said then done, I would be looking a judge and my mother right in the face and explain what happened. My legs suddenly felt like they were going to be jello. Will ran a hand through my hair in a fatherly way. I was happy that he took me under his wing and I was thankful that he was fighting for me. It did suck that he was the one who arrested me but in a way he was helping me as well.
"I got a surprise for you Rhy" he said.
"What?" I asked confused.
Will took my arm and lead me into the court house and immediately I felt stuffed up. I didn't like this feeling it was getting hot. This was NOT the time have a panic attack. I looked around and cleared my throat feeling uncomfortable. Carla smiled at me and rubbed my shoulder and that's when my lawyer came walking up. Marcus was dressed in nice dress pants and a shirt carrying a briefcase.
