Lio ran. Lio ran all the way home far from his parents, and into his room.
He grabbed the hair on his head in frustration;
Why? Was I not good enough for them?
Was I too much?
Maybe they wanted some annoying little baby instead of me.Because I'm that bad of a child.
Tears ran down Lio's face like a smooth fountain of water. He thought his parents didn't love him.
After twelve years of torture, they decided to try again.
Well I hope they're happy.
Lio shook his head and ran outside with his soccer ball.
His parents were talking at the dining table.
When they saw him run downstairs and towards the door, they ran to stop them.
'Lio, where are you going?' Paul asked stern but gently.'Field.' Lio said with a glare.
He shrugged out of his father's grasp and ran out the door.
He was first going to stop by Hunter's and have a big talk in the man cave.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
Lio saw a groggy Hunter with his sister, Lauri-Anne clinging to his leg.
'Sup Lio?' Asked Hunter, while rubbing his eyes; he was half asleep.
So he didn't notice the look in Lio's eyes.
Lio just wanted to tell him. Why go to the man cave? It's too important to do such a silly thing for.Lio sighed.
'My mom's pregnant.'
Hunter was now wide awake.
'What?!'
'Yeah man. I just found out' Lio's voice cracked.'Come on, bro. Having a sibling will be awesome' Hunter grinned.
'Hunter, it's not just that. What if it's because they don't want me or I'm not good enough for them?'
Hunter's face turned serious, with a hint of testing.
'Are you telling me my parents don't want me? Because I have sisters.'Lio laughed. 'Speaking of which, where's Victoria?'
Victoria is Hunter's 8- year old sister.
'Sleeping. Don't worry about it Lio. Maybe they did it for you.'And with that Lio left Hunter's house to go to the field.
He stopped dead in his tracks about 5 feet from the soccer field.
There was Adrian, Matthew, and Rory playing soccer.
Well at least they were trying to. Adrian and Matthew were obviously not letting her play, by shoving and hitting Rory.
But she still took the ball from them.
Adrian tried to kick Rory, but missed and Rory punched him in the mouth.'YOU STUPID BOYS! ALL I WANTED WAS TO PLAY A FAIR GAME, BUT YOU WONT LET ME SHOW YOU!' Rory screamed.
Now, Lio couldn't stand Rory for some reason, but he knew she was right.
He lost to her.
They won't give her a chance, but she can prove herself.
But she shouldn't even have to.
'Guys! Why not just play a fair game?' Lio asks, trying to calm things down.'With these idiots? Not a chance' Rory said, then ran back home.
She had a look of anger and resent, not sadness.
Lio tried to ignore everything and tried to practice his skills. But he just couldn't ignore it.
It was because of her.The girl he hated, yet couldn't stop thinking about.
***
'Mom! I'm back' Lio yelled, and sat at the dining table with his parents. He felt much better now.
