Misty sat down across from Delia on the dinner table with a plateful of spaghetti. Delia's eyes were red and puffy still, but she was calmer now. Spinning her fork in the dish, Misty grinned. "Thanks for supper!"
Delia gave a shaky smile. "You're welcome, sweetie. It was his favorite."
By "his" she must mean Ash... poor Delia... she thought, grinning back and digging into her food.
"Oh, his friend Serena called earlier today. She's arriving tomorrow and will be staying with us. Is that fine with you, dear?" Delia asked, scooping some spaghetti up.
Misty's heart's gears started to slow down. Along with the Scyther, Raichu, and Charmeleon, there was now a Servine slicing away at her heart with a sharp leaf. Serena... "Sure! That's fine." Misty rasped, pretending to have a dry throat. She shoved her forkful of food into her mouth before a sob was let out.
"You're so nice, Misty. Thank you for being here." Delia smiled faintly, letting a few tears go down her face, unnoticed.
"No problem! He was my best friend. " Misty cheered, avoiding Ash's name.
"Mime... mime mime..." Mimey climbed into the seat next to Delia with his food. He looked quite melancholy.
Delia patted Mimey on the back. "Mimey's been quite down since he died."
Misty frowned and reached across the table to stroke the Pokemon's head. "Aww, poor Mimey." she sniffed, feeling more tears come on.
Even though Ash was a ghost, and Misty could bring him back, she was torn up about his death. Everyone else wasn't themself anymore. Though she understood their feelings, she was the only one who knew about him now. She was still sad, still scared, and still broken about his death. Misty found it odd how she was just hanging out by her best friend's casket with him. She couldn't be any more confused or distraught.
"There there you two." Delia sighed, placing a hand on the now crying Misty's back as well. "We'll get through this."
Misty let her head fall onto the table, sobbing. "Ash..."
Delia gulped and let her tears flow out like a Waterfall attack. Her head hit the table as well. "Ash..."
Mimey slammed his face into his plate of spaghetti. "Miiime..."
Delia raised her head, sighing. "I guess Mimey didn't get the right idea. Let's go get the little guy cleaned up..." she smiled slightly as she dabbed Mimey's face with a napkin.
Misty suddenly had a question. "When is his funeral?"
Mrs. Ketchum froze, Mimey in her arms. "I-I... I think Sunday."
The girl's heart froze. Now, other than the Scyther, Raichu, Charmeleon, and Servine, a Snover was freezing her broken heart with its breath. Four days? Only four days? she mentally gasped. "Oh. Sorry for asking..."
"No, no." Delia shook her head, placing a hand on Misty's shoulder. "It's fine. You should go get some sleep, sweetie."
Misty nodded and stood from the table. "Goodnight, Delia."
"Goodnight, Misty."
"Mr. Mime!"

"So, I'll be sharing the house with Serena as well tomorrow." Misty sighed to Pikachu and Azurill, who had decided not to come to dinner. "Did you explain everything to Azurill, Pikachu?"
Pikachu nodded. "Pika!"
Misty noticed that Azurill was teary-eyed now. "Oh, Azurill, it'll be okay. I hope at least..."
"Chu!" Pikachu piped up in protest to Misty's pessimistic comment.
"I know, Pikachu. We can do it, all of us, together." Misty cried, slipping into Ash's Ash-less bed. She hadn't even bothered to get into her pajamas. Pikachu and Azurill slipped into bed with her, nestling up against her sides.
"Azuuu..."
"Pikaaa..."
Misty closed her eyes and took a deep, shuddery breath. Don't worry, Ash. I'll save you.
