Chapter Two

Bella's POV

I woke up from a nightmare, about what was going to be my first day at Forks High. I just hoped it wouldn't come true or I would have to run to save my own life. I peered over at the alarm clock and saw it was 5:59 a.m., almost a half an hour, before I had to get up for the day. I laid my head on my pillows and stared up at the ceiling; there was no way I was going to be able to fall asleep again. I was so stressed out by the dream, I was already wide awake. I let out a deep sigh to relieve some stress, but it didn't work, I was too tensed up.

Suddenly I heard Charlie approaching my room, I turned to face the door just in time to see him peek in. I said, “Good morning Dad.” He replied, “Good morning Bells, I'm getting ready for work, I'll see you, when I get home tonight.” I said, “See you later, dad.” He left without saying another word to me; he probably could tell I had a nightmare, but just didn't say anything about it.

I was surrounded in complete silence again, just waiting for 6:30 a.m., so I can start to get ready for school. I looked at the ceiling, dreading the moment my alarm clock would go off; telling me it was time to start getting ready for school. Finally after waiting for what feels like hours, my alarm clock goes off. I get off of my bed quickly and walk over to my closet—trying to find something to wear. What could I possibly where on my first day of school—here in this small town of Forks? My cell phone vibrates suddenly and makes me jump. The text message was from Alice saying, 'Wear your brown shirt and jeans.' I text back, 'Thank you Alice.' I pull my only brown shirt out of the closet along with a pair of jeans. I quickly head to the bathroom to take a shower, I got dressed quickly after and headed downstairs to the kitchen.

I felt as if someone was watching me, but I didn't see anyone around and I definitely wasn't going to go outside to check around the house to see if someone was out there. I quickly text-ed Alice, 'Is some watching my every move?' She replied back, 'Yes, but it's only me.' I asked, 'Why don't you just come in?' A few seconds later, I heard a knock on the door, I walked over to the door and opened it. Alice stood there with a big smile on her face, I motioned for her to come in. The voice in my head said, 'Why did you let her in! She's completely dangerous!” I ignored the voice and went into the kitchen and poured myself a bowl of cereal. I asked Alice, “Do you want any?” She replied, “No thanks, it's not on my diet. I can't tell you what my diet is either.”

I froze where I stood, I wondered why she would say something like that. Alice saw this and asked, “Are you alright Bella?” I took a deep breath and said, “Yes, I'm fine. Your last sentence just caught me off guard, that's all.” I poured a glass of orange juice, I didn't dare ask her what was on her diet. I sat down and began to eat my food, she watching me with a disgusting expression. I wonder if she even eats human food at all, but I wasn't going to ask her, mainly because didn't want to know the answer.

Without thinking I asked her, “Why were you watching me, Alice?” She replied, “To make sure you were safe, that nothing tried to harm you for my....” Alice didn't finish her sentence, but whose sake was she protecting me for. I suppose she'll never finish her answer, so I just continued to eat my breakfast. Alice asked, “How did you sleep last night?” I replied, “Okay, but a nightmare woke me up, it was about my first day at Forks High.” I shiver ran down my spine, as I thought about horrifying dream. 'His eyes shifted from golden-brown to black, he looked at me with hatred in his eyes.'

I suddenly looked at Alice and noticed her eyes and that they were golden-brown. I asked, “Does your brother Edward have golden-brown eyes too?” She replied, “Yes, why?” I replied, “He's going to scare the crap out of me today.” Alice chuckled loudly and said, “That's an understatement.” I replied in a serious tone, “I know.” She stopped laughing instantly and looked at me with wide eyes, she said, “How do you know this?” I replied, “I dreamed about, I fear for my life Alice.” She replied, “Don't fear him, I don't see him trying to hurt you. He'll be frustrated, when he discovers he can't read you mind. Just stay calm and take deep breathes. I will watch him and you too, to make sure he doesn't try to harm you at all, but I know he won't, so stop worrying.” I took several deep breathes, before saying, “Okay, thank you, Alice.”
