Chapter Thirteen

Bella's POV

Four Days Later

'Feeding at the blood club should be easy,' I thought. It was packed with humans as well as vampires, I could easily sniff out the vampires from the humans. I waited for the vampires to come to me, thinking I would make a delicious snack and when they reached me I could end them by drinking their venom. I was beyond parched with thirst, there was too many vampires in this room and my throat burned with insane thirst. I noticed Alice in the corner of the club and she thought towards me,'He'll be here in five minutes, you need to convince him not to do it.' I nodded my head in agreement, my mate was trying to do something stupid for no reason at all. I placed my shield around everyone else four minutes later, but the vampires could still feed off of humans.

Edward arrived just after I finished another vampire and let his body drop to the floor gently, I slowly approached the love of my life. He said as I brushed up against his inner thigh,”I wish you were still alive, things would of ended differently.” I mentally groaned, he thought I was a stupid mirage and it was making me mad. I said through tightly clenched teeth, “Don't do this, Edward. Don't kill yourself because of me.” He said, “I'm sorry, but I can't live in a world where you don't exist.” I growled out, “Then you shouldn't of left me, just because Jasper tried to attack me when I cut my finger on the gift Alice bought for me. Jasper feels sorry for that, he told me he lost his blood lust control for one second and he's sorry. If you get yourself killed, I will hate you for the rest my life.” He pulled away and said, “I'm sorry, Bella, but it has to be this way.”

I watched as he walked out of the blood club, I looked to my right and saw a few vampires in black cloaks staring at me. I thought, “Crap, I need to high tail it out of here.” They're were still wrapped in my shield, so they couldn't get at me right now even if they wanted to. I quickly released Alice from my invisible shield and headed out of the club, I motioned her to follow me and she did.

When she was right beside me I tossed her on my back and took off running faster than a vampire, we needed to get a way from their quickly. Alice asked, “What was that for?” I told her quickly, “The royals spotted me, we need to get away and fast.” I picked up my speed even more, I headed into an abandoned alley and scaled the building, this was going to be our best shot of losing them. I wrapped my shield around us to cover up our scents, then I jumped from building to building. My mind instinctively knew where I should be heading, about five minutes later a clock tower came into view and I immediately knew this was the place Edward was going to try to reveal himself.

Alice jumped off my back and said, “I need to get out of hearing range from Edward, otherwise he'll rush things. He'll try to do it in ten hours, when the clock strikes twelve.” I stated, “He's not taking one step out of that tower, I won't let him.” Alice said with a smile, “I know you will stop him, Bella. You're the only one who can stop him from making a big mistake like this.” Then Alice took off to hide out of Edward's hearing range, while I waited for ten hours in plain sight.

There was ten more minutes to go, before Edward would try to reveal himself to the humans. I slowly started to approach the clock tower, anger started to boil up inside me as I got near the tower and I probably would slap him across the face for even trying to do this. He appeared in the doorway a few minutes later, I quickened my pace and knew I needed to shove him back inside quickly. I bolted up the stairs at vampire speed, then I shoved him back inside and locked the door behind me. Edward commented, “A mirage shouldn't be able to do that.” I walked up to him and slapped him so hard that his faced cracked for a few seconds, before turning back to normal again. Then I yelled at him, “I'm not a mirage you imbecile!”
