Remember that scene in the movie, The Notebook, where the main characters Allie and Noah are on the beach and she runs up to him and jumps into his arms and he says those famous words, "If you're a bird, I'm a bird," ? You just find yourself staring at the television in front of you, knowing that that is what true love looks like.
Well...no, that's not what true love looks like because the scene in front of me is what true love really looks like.
"Don't touch me! How could you do that to me?!" I had just come out of the little market a few blocks from the hospital to pick up some snacks to keep me company when I see a young girl, probably about the same age as me, yelling - no wait, screaming with everything she had in her little lungs - at a rather good looking guy in front of her. "You stupid...stupid...UGH!!"
By now there was a crowd of people gathered by, watching this crazy scene. I stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I saw the girl push the guy into the street. He stumbled back just a bit, probably just giving her some satisfaction. He reached out to try and calm her down but she just slapped his hand away.
"How could you forget, Tommy?! Its just one day to remember and you forget!!" She belted out at the young man, which by now I figured out to be her boyfriend, Tommy.
He stood there for a moment as she gathered herself together, putting her hands over both her cheeks that were red from anger. "Come on Julie, I didn't forget. Can you please just calm down so we can go some where private and talk about this?"
She shoved him once more. Well wasn't she just the little aggressive one.
"No Tommy! You forgot! Our one year anniversary and you forgot it!" She was mad. Well I would be too if my boyfriend forgot our anniversary.
Tommy sighed and glanced around at all the people standing around. He flashed a nice, politesmile at everyone then turned back to his girlfriend.
"Maybe if you just waited a few more hours until it got dark instead of hunting me down just to yell at me, you would have seen that I had some very nice plans for the two of us that included going down town to the beach. Oh, and once we got there maybe there would have been a nice gift for you but no Julie, you just coudnt wait, could you?"
And cue the sound of a bunch of "oooooohhh's" and whistles from the crowd that had grown bigger in the past couple seconds.
The girl, Julie, was speechless. I'm not sure if it was due to his whole plan he had for them or the fact that she was just plain embarrassed but whatever the reason was, I think I've seen enough. I spent the last two days at home and I didn't want to waste any more time away from seeing Noah.
Just as I turned around to walk back to the hospital, I cam face to face with...a chest. A very strong looking chest If I do say so myself.
My eyes slowly made there way up the strange chest that was covered by a casual looking button down shirt and up to the face of Luke. No Sophie! Advert the eyes away from his eyes! Do it, now!
I sighed to myself when my eyes deceived me and looked right into those blue little death traps.
"Enjoying the show as much as I am?" His smooth voice played out. Show? What show? Oh wait, thats right. The couple who was fighting.
"Umm, not really no. Well...I mean maybe just a little bit." I just stared up at Luke as he grinned. I still find it a little strange that I know his name yet he doesn't know my name. Hell, he doesn't even know I know his name!
I took a small step back from his big frame as he crossed his arms over is chest and looked over my head at where the couple was. "They seem to really love each other, huh?"
