"Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off at your house really quick?"

"No."

"All you have to do is run in and change."

"I said no."

"Really, it will only take a few minutes, just hurry up and get chang- "

"Lucas Masen! I do not want to go home and change so drop it! If your foot doesn't hit that gas pedal in the next two seconds I will walk to the beach by myself!"

Yes, this was happening right now. I was sitting in a car that belonged to that...that thing named Luke. We had made our way out of the hospital and got into his car that was parked in the parking lot since we decided to have a little adventure time and go to the beach, but Mr. Stubborn over here, who was sitting in the drivers side of his car, insisted that I go home and get my bathing suit which was just not going to happen.

"My name isn't Lucas, it's Luke. Now if you stop yelling then I would be glad to drive." If he weren't so stubborn, then I wouldn't be yelling.

"No, your name is Lucas. I heard Allison yelling at you and she clearly said Lucas." He finally backed out of the parking spot we were in as i corrected him.

"I think I know my own name, Sophie," he glanced over at me in the passenger side as he pulled away from the parking lot and drove down the street. "She just calls me Lucas to sound more strict. I was born Luke, I am Luke and I will die Luke."

Did he always have to be right?

Yes.

I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest and looked out the window. "Well fine then, Luke."

The rest of the ride was quiet. Neither of us said a word. He just drove in silence, never taking either hands off the wheel or both eyes off the road while I watched as the scenery outside changed from small neightborhoods to a streak of bright green trees and now finally to a clear view of the of the beautiful coast line.

Wow, it had been so long since I've seen the beach that i forgot how breathtaking it is. I rolled the window down just slightly and i could smell the difference in the air from the air back in town. It was so fresh and clear over here. Most important it was peaceful. Just looking around, I could see the clouds that patterned the sky and the American flags that were attached to people's homes that flapped in the wind

All those people that had their house almost backed up right to the beach were so lucky. They got to wake up to this every day. They got to smell the fresh air every morning and watch the waves crash onto the shore. I must say, I'm streaming the jealousy right now.

We drove around for a couple more minutes before Luke finally found a good parking space on the side of the street. I opened the door and slid out, taking a quick glance around at my surroundings and noticed there were quite a few people here. Noah would love to come to the beach.

I could just imagine him laughing the whole way here then grinning once he stepped out of the car and saw this amazing view. Something like that would change his world because who knows if he will ever get the chance to see the beach again. He might never get to bring his kids to the beach or have a date on the beach. The beach was a place of wonders and Noah might never get to live those wonders.

Just then, i felt a hand press lightly against my back so I turned my head to the side and saw that Luke had made his way over and was now standing next to me. "You okay?"

I took a step forward and pulled away from him. "I'm fine. Come on, this was your idea so let's go."

I looked up at him and he smiled a nice, real smile and started walking ahead of me. I had to basically speed walk to catch up to him and keep his same pace.
