Chapter Nineteen

Hanna's POV

I squeezed Carter's arm as the doormen opened the large door.

Down 12 steps was a large crowd dancing. Beautiful ball gowns of all colors swirled as they twirled with people.

The music stopped and a spotlight went on one of the pack elders. The old lady held a microphone and note cards.

"Introducing Carter Haddix, Alpha of the Ice Moon pack and Hanna Walker."

"Introducing Max Haddix and his mate, Annabella Marks, Betas of the Ice Moon Pack"

"Introducing Jax Walker and Rose Carrick, Third in Command of the Ice Moon pack."

Everyone clapped and we walked down the stairs.

After everyone went back to dancing, Ben slipped into the room. Since he doesn't have a mate he didn't want to come in with us by himself.

"Come meet some people with me," Carter started to take me over to a group of four people. Two make and two female.

"Carter, my man it's good to see you," the big dark haired man fretted him. Carter shook hands with him and the other guy.

Carter stepped back and wrapped an arm around my waist.

"Hanna, this is Alpha Jameson and Luna Charley Paige of the Silver lake pack. And this is their Beta Chase and his mate Ali. Everyone this is my mate, Hanna."

I was shocked. I couldn't believe that he was introducing me as his mate.

"Hi. Its very nice to meet you. I love your dress," Charley Paige shook my hand. I smiled politely and complimented her as well. Ali was quiet and she was super close to her mate. Chase lightly kissed her forehead and she shook my hand.

"This is all very beautiful," Ali said softly. I nodded.

"Attention Everyone," the old lady gathered everyone's attention.

"All unmated males and females come to the center of the dance floor."

All mated couples moved to the outside of the circle.

I saw Ben go onto the floor.

The dance lasted almost twenty minutes. After the dance was over Carter and I continued to talk to people from other packs. Each time we introduced ourselves, Carter called me his mate.

"Hanna, Carter," someone tapped on our shoulders. We turned to see been and an unknown red head girl. She was short with curly red hair. Her dress went to the floor and was a dark evergreen color.

She shyly looked down.

"Guys. This is my mate, Jenna. Jen this is my older brother Carter and his mate Hanna."

Oh wow. He did find his mate. Carter awkwardly stood there so I greeted Jenna.

"Nice to meet you Jenna. What pack are you from?"

"The Red warrior pack," Jenna brushed a girl behind her ear.

"Anyway....you want to dance Hanna?"

I nodded and we bid our goodbye to Ben and Jenna.

A slow song came on and we started to dance. I was looking around at all the work we did.

"It turned out good, didn't it? I think it looks beautiful," I said.

"More like gorgeous,"

I looked at Carter to give him a confused look but he was already staring at me intently.

I have him a forced smile.

Carter tugged me a little closer so that his face was buried in my neck.

His breathing have me tingles on my neck.

"I meant what I said. When I introduced you as my mate."

"We're supposed to be friends," I pointed out.

"We are. But you can't expect me to allow that for the rest of your lives. I want to be with you,"

"I'll think about it."
