So as you probably assumed, the next day of school was great! and by great I mean I felt like shit and didn't go. I honestly laid around and spent the day doing nothing. That is until around 12:30 PM when my phone lit up and rang its usual Kim possible ring tone, so I answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey Victoria"
It was J.D, it's uncommon for him to call unless he's truly worried about someone or something, it was odd of him to call.
"Hey J.D, what's up?"
"I'm just at lunch right now.. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling a little better."
"Good, Hey fag I have a question."
"Alright dork what's your question?"
"Well I was thinking next time I was around Albuquerque I could come see you."
"O-Oh I don't know about that, you know, my anxiety. I'd be so nervous."
"I think you'd be fine, come on."
"Alright, maybe."
"Is there anything big happening in your life soon?"
"I'm in high school, obviously every day is an occasion, dork" I giggled a little.
"Alright alright, what about homecoming?"
"Next week on Friday, why?"
"Well I was thinking-"
"Are you asking me out?"
"Chill, no I wasn't I was just asking if I could come there and see you and your friends."
"I don't know."
"Okay well think about it."
"Alright I will."
I heard him chuckle quietly. "You better."
"You're such a loser, goodbye."
"Bye bye."
I didn't quite know what to take from that conversation, I had told J.D on multiple occasions that I was scared of meeting people, that my parents wouldn't like if I met someone even if they're a friend like him online, it just wouldn't work.
1:47 PM: I've thought about it more, I do, I do want to meet him.
2:00 PM: I need a way to tell my parents about him. I do want him to come, I do want to meet him.
2:30 PM: Or I could just not tell my parents and go to Laura's house that night... I've known Laura since 1st grade, her house is strategic for this type of thing since she lives right near the school.
3:00 PM: Can't go to Laura's house, fuck.
At around 5 PM mom came home, I had decided I would say he lived a couple towns over since its typical of other schools to come to our homecoming.
"Hey honey I'm home!"
"Hey mom!"
"How was your day?"
"Good, I guess, yours?"
"Good, are you feeling better?"
"Yeah my stomach is feeling a bunch better."
"Good I'm glad!"
"Hey mom?"
"Yeah?" She looked at me and smiled, her brown eyes looking directly at my eyes.
"N-Nevermind." I don't quite know why I was afraid of my mother, why was I afraid to say "J.D goes to west high, he's coming to homecoming is it ok if I hang out with him?".
Finally after laying in bed for a couple hours questioning exactly what to do I called Taylor.
"Hey Taylor?"
"Hey girl what's up?"
"You know J.D?"
"Yeah."
"He might come to homecoming."
There was a brief silence on the line.
"Vicky that's great! I can't wait to meet him!"
"One problem."
"Your parents?"
"Yup."
"You've called the right person." I could practically hear her grinning through the phone. "I've got the perfect plan."
"Alright tell me!"
