Music. The frantic upbeat tunes filled my head, accompanying the steady thump of an impending head ache.
I opened my eyes to find myself resting on a long couch, it's leather material sticking onto my sweaty skin. I sat up, rubbing the last bits of remaining sleep from my eyes as I took in my surroundings. There were two small lamps on either side of the large couch and a small table sat in front of, holding a half empty ash tray, indicating the presence of a smoker.
I stumbled as I stood up from the couch, stretching to regain for accessibility to my muscles. I don't know where I was, but at the moment it didn't matter. My stomach grumbled, reminding me of the small breakfast I had enjoyed before I left. Sighing I made my way towards the door, pressing my ear against it.
Several drunk voices floated though the thin walls and the base was louder now, flowing with one of the latest hits.
"Yes we have her, I can assure you Daniel and I will do our best to keep her safe and out of harm's way." I hear the deep and stuff voice of a man say as I strained to hear more. It was slightly tainted with an accent, one that lead me to believe the man was of Spanish heritage.
"Yes Mr.Ritalianza, I doubt she's awake now. The sedative we used to secure the location of the club was pretty strong." Sedated? I felt my teeth grind against each other, growing agitated at the man's voice.
The door began to pull away from my ear. I silently cursed as I took numerous steps backwards, away from the door. A tall blonde haired man stepped into the room with a smirk as large as Texas itself.
The man seemed overly confident. It was as if he thought he was the most handsome man in the world. He was good looking alright but not the best I'd seen. With blonde hair and green eyes the man looked like a rougher version of the boy next door. He was better than average and he sure as hell knew that.
"Has anyone ever told you that eavesdropping isn't a very polite thing to do." He said smugly, I stood there not acknowledging or answering him. He raised his eyebrows signaling that he was waiting for a response.
"I heard the part about sedating me. I see that you have no shame as well as an inflated ego." I seethed. Did this man have no form of respect?
"Feisty, I like it." He said, his smirk never faltering. I looked up words, already tired of the man in front of me.
"Wipe the smug look off of your face." I replied, gritting my teeth together. "You sedated me. Without my consent."
He laughs, his eyes wrinkle in the corners. He had the boyish charisma to him, his hair giving him youth while his suit made him appear older. Over all the man looked more like a boy, if it were not for his clothing or for his broad shoulders.
"Sweetheart, I'm a mafia man, I don't ask for your consent." He told me. "If I did, what type of criminal would that make me?" He asked, arching his eyebrow.
"A respectful one. There is a difference between what makes a man and what makes a criminal." I scold him.
"I like you." He tells me, his rugged boyish smile reappears as he does so.
"Well I'm sorry, mr..?"
"Liam. Liam Vattali."
"I can't say the same." I smirked as he smiled, amused at my statement.
"Soon you will, piccola." He said as he got closer. Confidence radiated off this man in waves.
My eyes scanned the room for an escape. Something, anything. I know.
