I nervously hid my hair with my arms, "Dal, isn't here right?"

Ponyboy looked up from his homework, "Not at this time, usually he'd be here sitting on the couch, drunk."

"I'll be doing my homework in my room, if he walks in and asks for me tell him I'm NOT here."

Ponyboy rose an eyebrow before widening his eyes, "Your hair... it's pitch black... "

"Yeah, yeah. I really wanted to dye it, but I kinda swore my life on Dal I'd never dye it. Too late for that."

"You better run to your room-"

It's as if God were waiting for something juicy to happen. At that same exact moment, Dallas Winston barged into the Curtis household.

"Have you seen my, red-head? I promise I'd take her to Dingo's."

I turned around.

"Who's the black haired chick?"

Ponyboy glanced back at his homework, "You probably know her."

Dallas footsteps grew closer. I could feel my stomach turn. Now is when I regretted my decision.

I covered my face and felt strong hands grip onto my wrists, "Show your face, beautiful."

I slowly removed my hands from my face.

I could hear Dallas' mouth drop to the floor.
"You little shit. You dyed it. "

"I wanted to change my-"

"Look at me, does it look like I give two SHITS if you wanted to change your hair? You were my red-head. Now you're some regular greaser."

My ears and cheeks grew hot. His words hit me hard. Some regular greaser? Are you kidding me?

I folded my arms and squinted my eyes. As good looking as Dallas Winston is, I'm sick of him thinking he owns me.

"Stop being so shallow all the DAMN time. So what if I dyed my goddamn hair black? It's my body not yours, Dallas Winston. Now before I go march into my room, I hope your darn ass is happy."

His eyebrows rose to the top of his head. He averted his eyes from mine, licking his lips in defeat.

After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, "I'm still calling you red-head."
