I poke Rose as she walks past me in the hall. She turns around and waves back. I push myself to keep walking as well. My first class is Integrated Math 1. I hate math, it's so confusing. I know Rose would be complaining with me right now. The teacher doesn't help either, he's really bad at teaching. I can't blame him though because math is the worst subject ever.
There is an upside of having math first period though, and it's one word, well name...Zander. What I admire about him is that he is focused, determined, and independent. Zander doesn't really goof off like the rest of our group does. Don't get me wrong he's not shy. It's just that he likes to focus on what's important. That's just who he is. Zander's like a natural-born leader. Yeah Damian is like that too but, there's just something about Zander make my face heat up.
I walk into the class and take a seat in my usual spot in the middle of this boy named Jake and this girl named Sarah. The middle is where the teacher doesn't really pay attention. He only pays attention to the people in the back or the front. I look over at Sarah's seat but, I see that Zander is sitting there. "Did we get new seats?" I ask. Great that's the last thing I needed.
I look around for a seating chart. Zander chuckles, "no Skyler. I just asked Sarah to switch seats with me."
I look at him surprised, "what? Why?"
He shrugs. "Its good being around your friends right?"
"Oh...um...yeah" I say not sure how to respond to something like that.
"Hope you don't mind." he says looking a little worried.
"Oh no not at all!" I smile.
Okay so this is new. Especially since I'm not the kind of girl that can get caught off guard easily. Actually I think this is the first time I've been caught off guard. Also I'm bad ass so...
The teacher walks in ready to start his boring lecture. I am happy Artemis comes in to interrupt. "Uh hi I'm um new." she says.
"Just have a seat and take notes." Mr. Haglin tells her. I zone out. I'm glad I'm gonna train with my mom this afternoon. I've been duying to start and get into the young justice league team. Well, with Robin and Catness anyway. I just can't help it. Ugh I'm so anxious that I want to jump up and and scream at the top of my lungs. I won't though because one Zander and Artemis are here and two I'll get detention from Mr. Haglin.
