Going Home (Artemis)

Hmm I hope Damian is feeling better now. Hopefully he trusts me because I really am here if he needs to talk. I stand back looking at my painting. Four different girls stand in a courtyard light up by the moonlight. One stands with a smile as her red cape is flowing in rhythm with the wind. She holds on to a complicated matching scythe. The one next to her has her white hair in a curled ponytail and a purple ombré dress. She carefully reaches out a delicate sword that looks like one used in fencing, but it's carefully encrypted with fancy markings and four colors at the end. Another girl holds a cold and ready expression with a tied bow against her black hair. Her eyes are a brilliant yellow and she has a short gray sword. The last one smiles aggressively. She has long yellow hair and guns that adjust to her hands.

I shake my head, when did I ever come up with this ridiculousness? I look out the window as the stars are scattered randomly around in emptiness. The library is quiet and it seems that I'm the only person here.  I guess it's time for me to go.

The cold air outside pushes my ginger hair into my face. Cars pass by as I walk. Less and less of them appear as I get closer to home. People are already home with their families and the rest are probably working hard to get the last of costumers situated. My mom is out on a mission. She said that she would be and so I came and spent my afternoon in the library. I wonder what my friends are doing now. Skyler is probably bothering Chase the way she always is. Zander is probably getting annoyed by pointless questions Rose sometimes asks. Actually come to think of she's been acting a bit strange lately. Anyway Peter is probably texting that new girl and telling her all about how he's the best guy around. Damian is probably thinking all about what I've said to him. Stacey might have gone home from Mrs. Kent's dinner by now. Bailey is always looking at her expensive fashion magazines and looking up prestigious stores that none of us have even heard of.

"No please I beg you! J-just take it and d-don't hurt me!" Cries come from an ally way. My eyebrows furrow and I walk quietly to the ally. I peek slightly around the corner. Three girls in dark uniforms tower over a proper and terrified woman. My grip on the building intensifies. Great it's the same girls we saw earlier today. I can't do anything about it though because I don't have a spare uniform. I'm sure I can get Aqualad to send someone. I get some distance and call in.

"Light Struck what is it?" His voice rings out.
"Aqualad some lady is getting robbed and I don't have my uniform could you send someone?" I ask in a hushed tone.
"Yeah I'm on it just send me the coordinates." He says and hangs up.
I send him the coordinates and quietly get out of there. I could have totally taken them but I can't risk anyone knowing my identity. It's times like this when I wish I didn't have to hide my powers from anyone.
Finally I can see my house from here. I trudge along to find someone sitting on the porch stairs.
"Oh hello Artemis. Long time no see, cousin."
