Inside the house, we saw tons of dusty, cobweb-covered boxes and some furniture covered in white cloths. It seemed to be a couch, a few chairs, and two or three tables that someone had stored once, but had forgotten them.Just then, a huge, creepy spider crawled by my feet, causing me to shriek and grab onto James. He put his arm around me protectively as we kept walking around to see what else there was.
We found a set of stairs leading to a second floor. It was also covered in dust and cobwebs. The stairs didn't look so safe, and I was not ready to go up, not wanting to be the one to test how sturdy they were just yet.
Apparently neither was James.
"Maybe we should go back." He suggested.
"O-okay." I nodded, agreeing with him.
We turned back and quickly walked out of the house back in the woods.
"Let's not tell anyone about this." James told me.
"Why not?" I asked him.
"I just don't think we should.. We could make it our secret." He said with a small smile growing on his face.
"I won't tell." I told him.
"Pinky promise?" He asked with his little pinkie out.
" Pinky promise." I replied, crossing my tiny finger around his.
"Great. Now let's go back so I can open my presents!" He said cheerfully as he took my hand, us running back up to his house.
