Chapter 3
(Eden’s POV)
I woke at 7 am and felt groggy. I looked over at the clock to make sure the time was right. Usually I woke up at 8 am on a saturday. I could taste the metallic blood in my mouth. All I remember is the being in the study and passing out. I thought that something had happened between me and Elisha but I just couldn't figure out what.
I sat up in the bed and looked down at my clothes. I realized I was still in my outfit from yesterday. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and sat there for a moment. When my bare feet made contact with the cold ground, my whole body shuddered. I felt a chill run through my spine and I jolted awake. I walked over to the closet, on shaky legs, and began to undress. I stripped off the out fit and grabbed a clean one from one of the hangers. i looked at my wrist for a moment and a sudden flash of images rushed into my head.
I remember Elisha carrying me into my room and setting me on my bed. I remember a sudden coldness run through me and blackness over come my mind. It was dark and lonely. Then I came back to the dimly lit room. When I opened my eyes I could feel Elisha's soft lips release from mine and a feeling of desperation ran through me.
"Please just lay down and rest for now. I will be staying the night and I hope to speak to you in the morning. But for now just sleep." I remember closing my eyes and a dreamless sleep creep on the horizon. I could feel the sleepiness drop over me. And thats when I fell asleep.
I was snapped back to reality when a cool breeze drifted through the room I tried to slip the outfit on quickly but was stopped by a soft hand on shoulder I turned around in time to see Elisha.
"Excuse me sir, but can you please exit my quarters whilst I dress?" He looked at me and blushed a deep red. I hadn't known that vampires could blush. he opened his mouth and nothing came out.
"If you aren't going to leave can you at least turn around?" He looked dumb struck and shuddered with his words. His eyes were looking into mine, but seemed like they were caught in a trance.
"uhhhhh, w-what?" He sheepishly let out. He shook his head and my words set in he quickly turned around and I slipped on the dress. I couldn't reach the zipper though.
"Excuse me Elisha, can you assist me and zip up my dress?" I looked over my shoulder and saw him turn around and walk towards me. He gently grabbed the zipper. He hesitated.
"It's ok. I have work to do so can you please zip me up.
(Elisha's POV)
I looked at her soft porcelain skin and wanted to touch her.
"It's ok. I have work to do so can you please zip me up." Her words snapped me out of trance. I moved the zipper up her back, moving her soft golden locks out of the way.
I watched her twist around me and disappear into the bathroom. She came out moments later with her long golden hair pinned up into the same neat bun it had been in last night.
As she stood in the door way of the bathroom I took the moment to study her features and details. I started with her face. Looking into her silver piercing eyes, they were cold but still humble and innocent. I could look into those silver orbs for eternity. I suddenly found myself looking at her pointed ears, somewhat elf like. Strange, I thought to myself. As far as I was aware elf's were extinct. I pushed the thought away. I looked at her naturally red lips and remembered the sort-of kiss from last night, and how soft her lips were. She blushed red and I realized my starring was making her uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare. I just think...that you're very beautiful." She blushed harder and retreated her gaze.
"Oh..." She let that trail.
"Is there something you wanted to talk about Elisha?"
I thought for a moment trying to remember what I was thinking about. Once I collected my thoughts I looked at her and replied.
"Yes, I wanted to offer you a job working for me." She looked surprised and nervous. I don't think she is quite enthusiastic about the idea of working for a new Vampire.
"Elisha..." She looked at me with shyness and sadness.
"I would love to except, but I love Ms. Callow and I love this home. I don't think I could ever think of leaving. Especially after the kindness she has shown me all these years."
She gave me a look that said she was sorry. I knew she would not except, but I was glad it was for that reason. I could never tear someone so loving a way from the person and place that they admired so much. I had the authority and right, because of my status.
"I really must check on Ms. Callow. It is almost time for her breakfast and medicine."
"No by all means go. I should not have kept you from your work." She nodded and flashed me a sincere smile.
"Thank you." She walked over to the door and left me as she went into the hallway.
(Gracen's POV)
I listened from the hallway as the foolish Eden declined the prince's offer. I was ashamed to have housed someone so insolent. How could she refuse someone of such high ranking.
I knew exactly what needed to done.
