Chapter 6
(Eden's POV)
It had been over 3 hours since Elisha picked me up. 3 hours since I said good bye to the Callow house forever. And 3 hours since my old life died. I was no longer Eden Nightingale, maid to the Callow house, and scared little girl. Now I was Eden Nightingale, maid to the vampire prince and his best friend. I would be living with them for the rest of my life. I would be doing their command, and fulfilling their wishes.
As we drove through the large pasturers and open fields, I felt myself relax into my seat. I leaned my head onto the window, but was suddenly pulled the other way. I now found myself sitting on Elisha's lap, with my head tucked into the crook of his neck. I sat there for what felt like forever, until he spoke.
"We are almost at the Mansion. I will show you around the house once we get there. You will be the only maid in the house. Me and Josh used to do all the work ourselves. I am sure he will be most pleased to know we will have some help now." I stay'd quiet and just nestled closer to him.
"I take it Josh is the friend you told me about. Might I ask what he is?" He just looked straight ahead and signaled for the limo driver to raise the privacy screen. I watched the long black glass slide up.
"Yes Josh is the other man you will work for. He and I have been friends for a very long time. I can't tell you what he is, but I am sure you will see soon enough. I might want to have towel ready by the front door when he arrives home, if I were you." A towel why would he need a towel.
"You will see in good time why he needs the towel. The towel is actually for your benifit, not so much his."
"Sir if it's to much to ask I wish that you not read my mind. It makes me uncomfortable to think you inside my head."
"Of course, I will do my best to keep my curiosity at bay."
"If you want to know what I am thinking, you could just ask me you know." He made a disappointed face and finally looked down at me. I quickly realized he was just teasing me with that upset face.
"But there's a chance you might not tell me."
"I will always tell you what I'm thinking if you just ask." He made a happier face and slid me back on the seat. With out meaning to I made an upset face and I think he noticed because he kissed my forehead. I looked up at him and he spoke in a soft voice.
"We're here." He opened the door and ushered me out of the car. He walked over to the trunk and grabbed my things. I only had 3 medium sized bags full of stuff. He carried my stuff to door and opened it.
We walked into a large foyer and I looked up to see a grand chandelier. Paintings and art work were everywhere. We walked up to the large staircase in the middle of the room. He began to walk up and followed close behind, holding on to the large railing. When we reached the top of the stairs he made a right and walked down a long hallway. He stopped at the 2nd door on the left. He opened it and walked inside, following him in I got a good look at the room. I was much bigger than my old room and very colorless. There was a lot of white. The only thing that wasn't white was the stuff made of wood, like the doors, floors, and bed. He walked over the a pair of double doors and opened them up to reveal a large walk in closet. He set my bags down in here and walked out.
The room was at least twice as large as my old room. The bed was king sized and had white lace canopy hanging above it. The bed rails holding up the canopy were a dark red wood. Just like the doors and floor. Over towards the far side of the room were two large glass doors leading out to a patio. Near those doors was a small sitting area like the old one in my other room.
"Do you like the room?" He asked watching my reactions.
"It is very lovely." He smiled and cocked his head to the side.
"Josh is almost here. Grab a towel and greet him at the front door please." I nodded and showed me to the closet with all the towels. I grabbed a large gold colored one and walked to the front door. Seconds after walking to it, it opened and a large wolf walked in. I didn't move or flinch. I knew what Josh was not. He was covered in mud and soaking wet. I looked outside to see that it had started raining.
"Excuse me Elisha, but do I have wash the dog?" I said playfully knowing how Josh would react to this comment.
"Ms. Eden I wouldn't c-" He was interrupted by Josh's yells and transformation.
"Who you calling a dog!?" Before me now was a naked man.
I turned my head and looked away from. I through the towel at him.
"Excuse me sir but can you please put this on? I knew what you were the second you walked through that door. I was simply assessing your personality. I was trying to see how much you would react to my comment. Seeing if you were rash or smart. To what I have seen I would say rash." He looked dumb founded by my answer.
"Why do say I am rash!?" he was screaming at the top of his lungs.
"Simple, you changed before a mere human. You had no idea if I new the secret or not. You jeopardized your life and secret because you wanted to act tough and macho. You would rather fight my words than keep yourself safe."
He had pure rage in his eyes. I stared back at him, he tied the towel around his waist and stood with his fists clenched. And just as thought he would start yelling again, the silence was broken by a sound I was not expecting. Elisha was laughing.
He was laughing so hard he fell to the ground and had tears welling up in his eyes. He started to snort and kick around like a toddler. Me and Josh looked at each other, we were both so confused.
"What the heck are you laughing at!?" Josh yelled.
Elisha fought to catch his breath.
"You two! I have never seen to people look so annoyed at each other. You were all like "Who you calling a dog!" " He made a face and mimicked Josh. I chuckled and put my hand up to hide it.
"You two are so immature." I chuckled under my breath. I know they both heard it. They turned their heads toward me and smiled.
"I guess it was pretty funny." Josh chuckled deep and manly.
"I think that it is getting late," Elisha said in a tired voice. "Maybe it's time we all get some rest. We will do proper introductions tomorrow." Me and Josh both nodded and walked up the stairs side by side. We split off at the top of the steps. He went opposite of me and walked into a door down the hall. Elisha stayed by side and followed me into my room.
"Elisha you have already said your goodnight. You can retire to your room." He looked a little embarrassed.
"I thought I would uhh." He was at a loss of words. He opened his mouth to speak but could not form the words.
"Is there something you need, Elisha?" He turned his head back to me and I realized what he wanted.
"Ohhh," I said quietly.
I walked up to him and placed a small peck on his cheek. He became tense and I rested my hands on his strong shoulders.
"It is okay. I don't mind." He became red as a tomato.
"That is why I am hear right?" He looked directly in my eye and nodded slowly. He seemed unsure of his answer. Like he was holding out on me.
What was he thinking? If only I knew.

Hope you guys and gals like my story so far. I am sorry I didn't update for awhile.
I will try to update soon. I know some people might think that "Oh it's summer time, you will have plenty of time to work." But actually I get distracted very easily and will lose track of time. I am sorry if I don't update right away. I will try to update at least once a week, maybe twice.
