We were greeted by a few men coming from inside the gates. They wore thick leather armor and had metal helmets with red streaks along the top sides. Their boots consisted of what seemed like more leather but more metal shown than what was on their chest and leggings. They took one look at Crow and nodded at each other. They all went back in after telling us to stay where we were.
"You seem to be well known.." I said
"Quite," he began, "Little bad came about me around here, however. So it is likely they shall allow us in.."
One woman came out, she stayed close in between the stone walls where the gate is. Being far away she gave a wave to bring us in. We walked up and went into Derraith. We might finally have a place to relax. As Crow stepped in he paused, taking in a deep breath. As if he used to call this home. He looked at me and was about to say something, until we were interrupted by merchants and salesmen, just near the town square right at the gates.
"Would you like-"
"How does one of 'these' sound!"
"The taxes are too high!"
They were all annoying. I could tell Crow was surprised. Angered at the sights and sound of a once assumably beautiful and peaceful city. Crow shook them away and began to walk ahead. I quickly then got surrounded by the men and did the same as he did. I eventually caught up to Crow and followed him around. We enjoyed the sights of the city fair, maybe that explained the salespeople bothering everyone. But who knows. There were jugglers, and horse shows, and even a joust. Everything was splendiful within this old stone town.
Buildings were mostly stone, the streets consisted mostly of stone, and of course.. The statues. And many there were. All beautiful, all meaningful. Everything seemed to have a meaning here.. Maybe that's why Crow stayed here; returned. To feel like he meant something. To feel within a group and not just alone..
We walked for a while and then up to an old, rickety building. I watched as Crow walked a bit more forward and stared up at it. Sounds of the fair were in the distance. Behind us was some sort of canal for water. I look back to the man, then back around. We were what seemed to be the only ones left around, not at the fair. I look where the man was looking. I decide to ask a question.

"Wh..at is this place?" I asked. I got again, like normal, no reply. He briefly looked at me and walked up to it. After taking off the bag and sorting through it, he pulls out a key, opens the door, and walks inside. I follow him in shortly after and notice what anyone could tell is his own house. But something was off. It's obviously not been entered for a while, yet something felt like it wasn't his house. I walked around a bit, as did he. He looked at me and told me to take off the armor and said I would be here for a while. So I did as told and finally felt a bit more comfortable now that I can keep my armor of for the rest of today. I was surprised that no one asked about my outfit earlier. I was sure that would've raised a few questions for sure..
No matter, I must relax now that I have the chance.

"Crow.., what are we to do next.. With me..?" I asked as he sat down.
"Hmm?"
"Well.. I mean how am I to get home?"
"... Where do you live...?" He asked while siting with his head upwards on the back of the rocking chair as if he were to fall sleep.
"Well maybe...," I began, "we should-," Crow interrupted me with a slight snore, "Leave it for tomorrow." We were both very tired. Neither of us moved much until the next day.

When the morning came so came a mourning. I was woken up to the sound of the bells at the grave just down the street. A subtle noise, but a sad one. It reminds me of- oh, poor Merrie.., I couldn't find her. I knew I should of went with her.. I don't know why I didn't. It was dark outside... cold... I just-

Crow walks into the house.

"Crow..!" I said with a little excitement.
"Yes.. but now's not the time for happiness," he began with a sort of crackle in his throat. "Today.. Sir Denrael Hammings the IV has been buried. Sad it is, he was an amazing ruler for this lovely town.."
