(This chapter is in Percy's POV. May be some Annabeth, too. Just FYI)

He was driving. He didn't know where to, or why, but there was one phrase repeating in his head. Come back to me, Seaweed Brain. Someone called Annabeth had said that to him. Percy was dimly aware of two figures in the back seat, a bulky boy and a girl with frizzy hair and golden eyes. They were simply figments of his imagination. Right?

Annabeth sobbed into her pillow. Why was life so unfair? First a proper childhood was taken from her, and now Percy... Percy.
For some reason, a song replayed in her brain. Say you'll remember me, standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset, it seemed like the kind of thing the girl would say to the boy in cliche movies. But no, she was no fan of cliche and she tried to get the lyrics out of her head. They came back, though, pestering Annabeth until her weary brain finally let down its defenses and the single line of words was all she could think about.
Come back, Percy. Don't you dare forget me.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, aforementioned boy was sprawled in the bed, tossing and turning. His mind was trapped in itself, and spikes on a brain activity monitor showed he was dreaming. About what, though, would remain confidential until he actually woke up.
Memories danced by, so quickly that Percy didn't even have a chance to snatch at them before they disappeared. He caught glances of a blonde-haired girl with stunning gray eyes, beaming at him. A house, going up in flames; a dark-haired boy with sunken obsidian eyes. A girl with golden eyes and a bulky Chinese-Canadian boy, two people holding hands. The memories went by, one by one, taunting him with their closeness.
Almost---yes! He'd caught a memory. It was of him holding a ceramic vial, drinking its contents almost robotically. Across from him, a blurred face was doing the same.
Gradually, his memories started returning to him. Jason Grace. Piper McLean. Leo Valdez. Names clasped in his grasp, memories tumbling into his mind. An old man named Phineas, a  woman named Gaea. Lee Fletcher, a childhood friend who moved away; Castor, a guy who he never learned the last name of. His stepfather Gabe, his real father Poseidon. Most of all, he remembered two people. Sally Jackson. His mother. His wonderful mother, with her blue cookies and warm hugs and delicious meals.
And Annabeth. No, he would never forget Annabeth. Her impact on his life was very large. So large that he couldn't possibly calculate it. He remembered how she'd kiss him whenever he did something stupid, the way her gray eyes shone with wisdom, how they'd met the very first time; ironically, in a hospital.
He remembered the crash. How he was just walking, and a car had just rushed around the corner. The pain. Oh, the pain. It was like being dipped into the River Styx, or worse.
And then he'd come here, to this little place between dead and unconscious.

A/N: Hi guys! Bye guys xD
