"Natasha!" I hear Mary running up behind me as I get out my car. I turn around to stop her before she knocks me over. "Mary! Hi, slow down!" I tell her laughing. "I gotta ask you something." She tells me lowering her voice. "What's up?" I ask smiling. "I saw you with Cory in the gardens then in the car with him, what happened?" She asks me in a concerned manor. I am unsure to tell her anything about what he said so I just say the basics. "We just went out for coffee, talked then I saw he's apartment." I tell her smiling. "What the hell Tash! He's a vampire. What are you doing!!!" She lowers her voice as she spoke. "I know, he knows that I know too! He trusts me and I think I trust him, it's okay." I reassure her and start walking off to class.
"Hey Cory, what's up?" I say smiling as I take a seat next to him in science class. "Hey Tash, wow your talking to me?" He asks shocked. "Cory, yes I am, but I want to know one thing!" He nods, "What is it?" He asks. "Why did you hurt me? At my house, behind the classrooms, outside town..." My heart speeds up a little bit. "I didn't know who you were Natasha, but that wasn't me! I promise I'm not like that just trust me and give me a chance?" He asks, really meaning every word. "Okay." Everyone deserves another chance. "Yesterday with Mia and Peter, I heard you mention something about finding the other vampires last night, the ones killing those people." I look down at my books then back up at him. "Uhhh...yeah the three of us went out last night to see what was going on. There are more than just three vampires in Peach Hills Tash, Peach Hills is home to more vampires than just me and my family. These animal attacks have been happening for a very long time and I think your mother knew that before she moved! Maybe she even knows the truth?" He asks me, by the sound of he's voice he regretting telling me the last part. "I don't think so Cory! That can't be possible! I mean I could hint to her and ask why?" He nods. "Settle down now everyone!" When the teachers come in, no one says a word! But I need to know who these vampires are. I see him tear a piece of paper from he's book on the corner of my eye and he writes something on it and slides it across the table to me.

Lunchtime. Peter Me You side of the gym. Need to talk.

I read over note and nod my head so he sees I understand. Class is draining for the rest of that lesson. Especially because I am eager to hear what Cory has to say and why Peter needs to be there. Is this a vampire thing?

When lunchtime comes I rush over to the side of the gym, I hope I don't see Mary. No one goes there so it's a pretty private space, teachers don't even patrol the area. I sit down against one of the walls. "Cory." I speak out in a monotone, normally volumized voice. He will hear me. Very short after I see Cory and Peter appear directly in front of me. "Using your vamp skills again?" I laugh. I still have no idea how I am so comfortable with all of this. I guess I am just part of a secret that not many people know of. I feel wanted in a sense. "Eh, no one saw us." They both sit down on either side of me and I put my hands together and rest them on my legs. I feel slightly uncomfortable, I am sitting closer to Cory than Peter, I trust him. They look at each other, then at me. "We went out late last night to see who's been doing all these killings." Peter starts off. "You know everything now so we only think it's fair to keep you with us, to tell you what's happening and to protect you as well." Cory tells me. "I don't need protecting I am not a little girl but thanks." I say to no one in particular. Maybe I do need protecting? I will never become a vampire, though I mean the last few days I have thought about it. Cory reaches out and grabs my hand to hold it. I let him because I know he cares about me. "Then who is it?" I ask them. "We don't know them, they're new to it that's all we could tell. There are vampires hiding somewhere turning random citizens and making them rip up our town. If we find out who the vampires are we can put a serious stop to this. Vampires, the new vampires. They are dying, we found some in the woods dead last night. Heart gone." Peter says. "Wow Peter that's not sugar coating anything." I tell him in a playful manor, though I also have a rush of fear come over me. "I'm more of a salty guy." He winks. "Umm okay." I nod and smile like I would be talking to a foreigner who does not know how to speak English. I look toward Cory. "I'll speak to my mum tonight. I can help." He nods. I think I might like Cory, just a little.
