I officially hate Monday's. It's a basic statement I know, but I've been at school for 45 minutes and I'm already annoyed with everyone. The lack of sleep doesn't help either. Ever since I saw Luke at the diner I've been on edge. He's waited this whole time to apologize and now the best he can do are lame apologies consisting of me "getting over myself." I mentally roll my eyes at him. As much as I'm trying to forget he even exists, my mind just keeps holding on. I get to first hour right before the bell rings hoping I won't see him today.

After sitting, more like sleeping, through the rest of my morning classes I finally have lunch. I open my locker and take out my small lunch that I managed to pack this morning. I pull my sweater down to keep it from rising up. It was the beginning of fall so I chose a comfy navy blue sweater with some light colored jeans and my white converse. I begin to walk to the cafeteria wondering where I'm going to sit. I glance around the cafeteria and see most of the tables are full already. "Camari!" I hear my name and look in the direction to see Ashton calling me over. I roll my eyes and look away. I keep thinking he's going to get the hint but he hasn't. I make my way outside to the small courtyard and sit at one of the tables. I'm one of the very few people out here making it peaceful.

My peaceful atmosphere has suddenly vanished when I feel someone behind me. "Luke what part of leave me alone do you not understand." I snap.

"It's not Luke."

I turn around to see Calum. I take in his appearance. He's wearing a Green Day shirt and his signature black skinny jeans."Can I sit down?" He asks nervously. I nod with a sigh. Out of all the people that hung out with Luke, Calum was by far the nicest. He was honestly a good friend of mine.

"Did Ashton not tell you? I don't wanna hear it or talk about it. If you're here to tell me I need to get over myself then save it." I say. He frowns.

"I'm not here to do any of that stuff. Actually I'm here to apologize. I'm sorry about the way this all turned out and I'm sorry about whatever Ashton said, but I miss hanging out with you." He says staring at me.

"There you go again Cal! Don't you ever get sick of apologizing for them? They cause all this trouble and you're always there to pick up the pieces. No one deserves that. Especially not you." I say. Every time Luke and his gang of idiots cause trouble Calum is the first to make things right. I have no idea how he even got roped in with them, but he could be doing so much better. He gives me a look.

"It's not like that and I'm not 'picking up any pieces.'" He says adding air quotes. "Sorry for missing my best friend."

I felt so shitty for the rest of the day after he left. The rest of my classes flew by. I drive home and see my mom's car isn't in the driveway like usual. I get out and unlock the front door. "Mom I'm home!" I call out just in case. "Not that you really care anyway" I mumble to myself. I go through the mail checking to see if I have any more college letters.

I was halfway through the stack when the doorbell rang repeatedly. "I'm coming chill out!" I call out. I open the door and stand there in shock.

"Camari! It's so nice to see you!" He says smiling wide.

"Dad?!"
