Michael's POV

I look over across the lunchroom and see Camari sitting by herself. I sigh to myself remembering when all of us would sit together. I don't know why Luke is such a dick or why Ashton is starting to act just like him, but I hate that she's ignoring me just because I still talk to them. I watch as Kaelyn walks over to her. I can't stand her either. She's Ashton's girlfriend, or she was. It's nothing but a complicated mess. Ashton has caught some serious feelings for her, which no one can understand why. I've heard from many people that she's just with him for the sex, not that I'm all that surprised. Ashton refuses to believe any of those rumors, but recently he's been distant towards her.

Kaelyn must have said something as I see Camari storm out of the cafeteria. Kaelyn laughs and walks away. I begin to stand up. "Where are you going?" Ashton asks.

"Bathroom." I lie.

"Alright cool. I'm gonna come to and wash my hands." He says standing up and I groan. All I wanna do is apologize to Cami so she'll talk to me again, but she won't even look at me if Ashton's with me. ON our way out I keep thinking of different situations where I could ditch Ashton and none of them would work. I see Camari at her locker, and before we could keep walking Ashton speaks up.

Ashton's POV

I decided to go with Mikey because I know this little bathroom run wasn't really gonna happen. He never tells us where he's going. I stand up and follow him out into the hall. He looks deep in thought. He looks down the hall and stops walking. I glance over and see him looking at Camari. I mentally scoff at her. Lately it's been all about her and it's annoying. What happened wasn't even that bad and she needs to go back to dating Luke so he quits acting like an ass.

She closes her locker and starts to walk in the other direction, and that's when I speak up.

Camari's POV

"Hey Camari!" I hear. I come to halt and turn around to see Ashton and Michael.

"What?"

"So I hear someone had a fun night last Friday." He says with a smirk.

"Ashton I don't have time for your games, so what the hell are you talking about?" I say giving in.

"Calum told us about quite the fun night you two had. First Luke and now Calum."

"Yeah we had fun, if you count watching reruns fun."

"Oh I'm sure it was a little more than that. I'm a little disappointed Cami."  He says smugly.

"Why, because we didn't do anything exciting? I don't see why you care what we do at night."

"Wow. At least you remember having sex this time." My whole body feels numb. I couldn't form thoughts and my mind was a mess. Suddenly I felt my hand sting and I see Ashton holding the left side of his face. His face gets red and his eyes are burning with rage.

"You're gonna regret that." He threatens. He raises his hand and I put my arms up trying to brace myself. I wait for a few seconds but it never comes. I move my hands and look to see Luke pinning Ashton to the wall.

"Don't you ever go near her! Threaten her again and I'll end you! Don't even look at her." He snarls at Ashton.

"Luke." I whimper. I hated violence more than anything and seeing my friends, well old friends, at each other's throats because of me is stressing me out. Luke lets go and Ashton walks off cussing as Michael makes sure he leaves.

Luke comes over and wraps his arms around me. I can't deny that I've missed the way his arms feel around me, or the way I feel safe in them. I hug back not even caring that I'm supposed to be hating him. I hide my face in his toned chest as he rubs small circles in my back like he used to.

"Shh Cami I'm so sorry. He won't ever come near you I promise. I promised you I'd always protect you and I mean it." He whispers, and that's when reality starts to come back to my mind. I pull away and get myself together.

"You did, and yet the only person I needed protection from was you." I whisper. I turn and start walking.

"That's right. Just walk away and run away from all your problems like you always do. That's about all you're good at." He says scoffing.

"I prefer the term driving. I drive to get the hell away from you. Like I'm doing right now." I say continuing out the door into the school parking lot. I was almost to my car when I heard footsteps run up behind me. "Luke I swear to god-"

"It's not Luke." I turn around and see Calum.

"Damn near." I scoff.

"Why are you mad at me?" He asks confused.

"Like you don't know." He gives me an innocent look trying to play it off. "You lied and told your friends we had sex last Friday. Why would you do that Calum? I trusted you." I say. My voice gives out at the end. I'm tremendously hurt by all the backstabbing I've had to go through in the last few weeks. I'm beyond stressed out and I'm begining to feel trapped within myself. I need to get far away from here. I get in my car and speed out of the parking lot going the in the furthest direction away from this mess. I watch as the school begins to fade in my rear view mirror. I turn the music up loud and roll the windows down as my mind begins to race.
