The day of the wedding
5:00 pm

My hair was an array of bobby pins and hairspray holding together the masterpiece that Sierra had created. All that was left to do was slip into my dress and shoes. My hands shook violently with the adrenaline. In these final moments of being a non-married woman, I could barely contain myself.

I tried to sip lightly on some tea to calm myself but somehow it wasn't working. All I wanted was for this moment to move by so I could become Cameron's wife.

"ready for the dress?" Sierra questioned me. I looked up.

"absolutely." I stood from the chair I was in. I walked over to the dress laid out neatly. I felt the fabric one last time.

"here we go." And the silky  fabric gently fell down over my head, gracefully avoiding my hair. It was zipped up in the back and I was handed my shoes. I slipped on the tall pale nude heels with sparkles on them. None of this would ever be my style but today I couldn't get enough of it.

I felt the veil placed on my head and all the girls fluff it out lightly.

The sound of a door opening set the enchantment off. We glanced up. Skylynn was standing in the doorway, her yellow dress flowed gorgeously around her small frame. I'd picked it out so long ago and here she was, wearing it. At my wedding.

"Cammy wants to see you," She cooed. "But I told him he couldn't."

"But that doesn't mean I can't does it?" I heard Nash's familiar voice.

"Get in here!" I called, and the door closed quickly with them inside. He walked around the corner to see me and just stared in awe for a moment.

"Wow. Look at that, Sky, my best friend, all grown up." He chuckled. I blushed and bowed my head. "Well done, girls, she looks magnificent. Cameron won't be able to contain himself." Nash came forward and held my hands in his. I smiled at him. Finally, standing on this pedestal with heels, I was taller than him.

"Look at that," I began. "The lone wolf is getting all gooey for the wedding." He laughed this time. I followed soon after.

It was silent for a moment.

I glanced up. "How long?"

"Ten minutes." Alice, a close friend from home, answered.

"Are you excited?" Nash asked and I felt a huge smile form on my face.

"Beyond."

"I better get back to Cam, he's been pacing for the past thirty minutes. While he was getting dressed." Nash joked. He headed for the door but stopped and turned last second, removing something from the pocket of his suit. "I almost forgot."

A paper airplane flew through the still air and landed at my feet. I picked it up.

"From your lover. I'll see you soon." He said before the door closed between us.

Inside the airplane was a folded paper, with a stick figure drawing, obviously by Nash. It was a boy kissing a girls cheek.

I sat and read the note. He wished to pray with me so I sat and prayed for a happy lifetime with him. The  letter gave me all the hope in the world about marrying this man. And oh god, I never loved someone more.

And suddenly my whole world flipped from peaceful to chaotic.

"It's time! Places!" Sierra enthusiastically gestured everyone to a huddle.
