Scarlett's POV
It sucked that I have to go to Mr. Cena's class right now. I have been unable to forgive him since he gave me detention for helping his daughter. That guy was a jerk. Then again, I had to have him for the next three years so I might as well get used to it.
"Hey Scar, what's up?" I hear behind me. I turn and see Finn. I shrug.
"Nothing much, how about you?" I reply. He nods.
"Yeah, I went back to Ireland for a visit with my family for Christmas." He tells me. I smile.
"That sounds like fun!" I comment. He nods.
"Yeah, I love seeing my family. So how have you been, how was your Christmas?" He asks. I sigh.
"It was fun. My dad got me a new phone. I got a call from my mom. I also got to see my little sister." I tell him. He looks at me in surprise.
"We've been friends for months and you still haven't told me all this stuff." He complains. I smile.
"I have many secrets." I say mysteriously. He laughs.
"Is that so. Well maybe I have a different side to me as well." He counters.
"Yeah, I'm sure you got a demon in there somewhere." I mock.
We get to class. I take a seat next to Finn. Finn and I had become best friends. In fact, before the break, we exchanged gifts. He got me a ring that had a gold four leaf clover where a diamond would usually be. I got him an Italian gold necklace that has a Finn charm on it.
Tiffany has encouraged me to start dating Finn, but I guess I've just been a bit hesitant. I'm not even sure if Finn likes me, or if he just wants to be friends. Mr. Cena begins speaking and it tears me from my thoughts.
"So, how was everyone's vacation?" Mr. Cena asks. Tiffany speaks up.
"Mine was okay. I spent it with my dictator father but it was alright. I got some great presents." She teases her father. All of us laugh as Mr. Cena narrows his eyes at Tiffany. He scoffs and stands up. He grabs a piece of chalk and writes "Respect" on the board. We all groan.
"I know we tackled this topic about two months ago, but clearly we need to review it before the Mid-Year Exam next week." He announces. Tiffany rolls her eyes and stands up.
"You know what, respect isn't what's important." She declares. She steps up and erases "Respect." She then writes "Trust." She turns to us all. "You see the most important part about overcoming the odds is having trust in your ability and the trust of whoever you step into that ring with. Without trust, the audience won't be entertained." She looks to her father. He nods.
"Okay, that's enough." He dismisses. She scoffs.
"Tell me Dad, is the way you've treated my grands and me respectful. No, it isn't because there is no trust. A relationship without trust does not survive. I want our relationship to survive Dad." She pleads with him. He nods.
"I'm Tiffany. You're right. Maybe today's lesson should be about trust. Especially since I hope you trust that I only want what's best for you." He tells her. Tiffany nods.
"I know Dad. I'm just not sure you know what that is." She counters before going back to her seat. I hear Finn beside me.
"Wow, she was amazing." He observes in awe. I feel a sense of jealousy stir in me. Does he like Tiffany? I pick up my things and leave.
"Scar, wait!" Finn calls but I ignore him. I was filled with hurt and humiliated.
