Ashley to his bedroom and slammed the door, running a hand through his hair. Of all the betas in the pack, they had to select that one. Possibly the most problematic one there's ever been, if that were a thing that was actually kept track of. Speaking of keeping track of stuff...
Ashley walked to his bedside table and sat on the bed beside it, taking out his day planner. He found the current date and looked at the day three days after. He had a client coming on Wednesday, so he needed Andy on his best behavior.
Hell, he didn't care if Andy was up in his room all day talking nonsense to the damn alarm clock again, he just wanted it to go as smoothly as possible. Ashley looked at the door, hearing the crying stop. Finally... He rolled his eyes and started planning the coming weeks in the planner while he had the time to himself.
Ashley looked up slowly after a few minutes. It was quiet. It was too quiet. He crept down the stairs, trying to be quiet so he could catch Andy in the act of whatever stunt he was trying to pull this time.
"Andy?" He called, frowning when the frail boy was nowhere to be seen. He stopped, seeing the front door wide open. "No way." Ashley breathed. The night that Benjamin and Daniel went to retrieve Andy, they had to use a map to locate the pack. Ashley remembered Daniel leaving it on the kitchen counter when they brought him back; it seemed that Andy had remembered too.
"Those imbeciles!" Ashley hissed, grabbing his car keys and rushing to his car. He drove for a few minutes until he carelessly parked on the side of the road. He looked around, groaning to himself. He needed to get to Andy before he got back to his pack and it would take too long on foot. "Oh, fuck it!" He growled, running and shifting as he bolted down the hill towards the woods.
Andy stepped cautiously out of the woods, unaware Ashley was on his trail. His eyes lit up when he saw his parents at the mouth of the cave and trotted happily up to them. He sat in front of them, delighted to see them again.
His father, however, was the opposite. He snarled angrily, body going rigid. His mother shook her head silently, getting up and going back into the cave. Andy flinched back, ears flattening to the sides as he whimpered pathetically. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched the scene that was happening before their eyes.
Andy looked around, hoping to see that at least someone was happy to see him. But... even his siblings stared at him, confused rather than disappointed.
Was he being shunned...? The silence was pierced with a loud, angry snarl coming from behind them. A large, dark brown wolf emerged into the clearing, walking confidently over to Andy. Andy, having never seen Ashley's wolf form before, nearly melted.
Whoever that wolf was, was... gorgeous... He was masculine, handsome, dreamy... Andy nearly swooned at the sight of him.
The strange wolf looked at his father and nodded, then looked at Andy. He trotted back to the edge of the woods and glanced at him, gesturing for him to follow.
Andy followed in a daze, his mind buzzing with a million emotions and thoughts. An extremely attractive alpha wanted him. Woah.
The dream that had been clouding Andy's head was ripped to shreds when the wolf shifted, walking up the hill to a very odd looking machine. Ashley.
Andy stopped walking and glared, sitting down stubbornly.
"Andy. Car, please." He sighed heavily.
Andy shook his head, looking away. His tail flicked in a sassy manner. It was a nervous thing Andy did when he was slightly embarrassed. This was one of those times...
Ashley, rather than getting frustrated, grinned knowingly.
"C'mon, lover boy. Get your ass in the car." He rolled his eyes and opened the door for him. Andy shifted eventually and climbed in. He would cross his arms if he wasn't gripping the car door handle for dear life. "Never been in a car before?" Ashley smirked.
Andy pursed his lips. "Of course I have." He lied. Ashley grinned wickedly and slammed his foot on the pedal, sending Andy to the dashboard with a yelp of surprise. He grabbed the handle again, hyperventilating.
"Right! My bad. I can tell you're pretty experienced." Ashley replied smoothly, going back to the speed limit before getting back on the main road that would take them back home.Andy glared at him. "Not funny."
"Oh it was hilarious." Ashley mused. "Why? Don't you think so?"
"No! That was horrifying!" Andy whined, hitting his shoulder. Ashley chuckled."I'm very sorry, princess." He winked.
"Don't call me princess." Andy muttered, looking out the window. Ashley remained quiet this time, holding back the rest of his witty remarks until they were home. He took the map from Andy and tossed it in the trash, taking Andy into the living room.
"So. Care to explain what that was?" He sighed, sitting down on the sofa. Andy looked at the fire place."Nothing." He mumbled childishly. Ashley rolled his eyes.
"Really? To me it seemed like you were trying to rejoin your pack." He said irritably. "And how did that work, huh?"
Andy pursed his lips, looking down and letting his hair fall down over his face.
"Andy." Ashley sighed.
"It didn't."
"Didn't what?"
"Didn't work." Andy said almost as soon as Ashley finished speaking. Ashley looked at him, reaching a hand over and tucking his hair behind his ear.
"Andy..." Ashley murmured. "Look at me."
Andy shook his head, pulling his sleeve over his hand and wiping his nose. "No." He sniffled.
"Andy-"
"Why." Andy finally looked at him. "So- So you can tell me how pathetic I am? How childish I am?" he whimpered. "So you can remind me that I'm never going to be able to see my family again and that I'm a disgrace? That I'm a stuck up brat who doesn't know the first thing about real people? Well you're right!" He stood up, tearing his arm from Ashleys hand.
"Andy, sit down."
"No!" Andy spat.Ashley grabbed his arm and pulled him down again, Andy landing on his lap. "Just shut up. For once." He shook his head. "I wasn't going to say any of that. I- I was going to apologize."
Andy stared at him with his red eyes. Apologize?
"I just want to go home..." He began to cry quietly again into his hands. Ashley bit back his usual response and pulled him into a warm hug.
"I know you do." He whispered into his hair. Andy pulled himself closer, sobbing into his chest. He burrowed into his warmth, taking in the strong, comforting scent of Ashley. Cologne and cinnamon... It was soothing to Andy, some how.And the last thing he remembered was falling asleep on the couch in Ashley's arms.
