Roxanne's POV

What Eric just asked make a point. I don't know what I missed during the investigation or what Giselle missed when she was wandering the village all by herself.

I start looking to every direction at the village with my binoculars. The houses have something similar. I look carefully and I found something.

There is some kind of symbol attached on their dwelling's front door. It looks like a cross, but it's not. It has a strange circle on the middle of the cross, and the details are different than the Christians' or Catholics' cross. They seem to be made of Mahogany. The unusual thing is, they are covered in this bloody red paint. I presume that this symbol is what keeping them safe from the ghost. But what happens if the symbol wasn't there...?

Eric said to me that we can't help the attacked citizens because that means we can be attacked too and it's dangerous. But honestly, I think it was nonsense. Maybe she would think through things theoretically, but not me. I am not that theoretical. If I could help someone, I would do my best to help them.

DONG! DONG! DONG! DONG!

The clock tower rang eight times, pointing at eight. Another ghost will show up.

"Girls..." Giselle's voice is shaking terribly after she peeked at the mansion's graveyard. Another ghost appeared there, really pale, almost transparent. The ghost is wearing a tuxedo and his head is decorated with bullet wounds.

"I have no idea who he is, but there has to be some connection between the ghosts, something important." I said as I take down notes, just in case if I forget to search the information and data next morning.

"Look closely; there is something strange with the ghost. Where are his fingers?" Eric's voice cracked in fear. God, I don't know what will happen to them if the group split up and she goes with Giselle all alone. It will be like Shaggy and Scooby-Doo from Mystery Inc.

"Oh, I just remember something!" Jean chirped. "I've asked our inn owner about this, and he said that the man was a famous pianist at that time, but he got attacked at the incident, so he lost all of his ten fingers."

We look at Jean like she grows one more head.

"Did he say anything about the incident?" I asked curiously.

"No, he said he was only told by the local people, he didn't actually know it. Besides, all of the villagers said the incident report is classified. No one knows the actual tragedy. All they knew is that the incident killed all the Ausburg family members. And it happened decades ago."

I sigh in disappointment. Jean's statement has given me a glint of hope to wrap this case sooner, but now it's gone. Poof into the thin air.

Honestly, even though my friends think that I'm the bravest in the group, I'm really not. I'm still a coward. When I was a little girl, I've experienced this supernatural thing that you never want to experience. It was all too scary.

Luckily, my sixth sense's ability has blurred since I was twelve. It's a good thing that I don't have it anymore, but it left me scarred for life.

"Okay then, keep looking, guys. I'll try to find information about the Ausburg family." I said as I grab tablet. The others is busy with the binoculars when I googled about the Ausburg family history.

Then, this interesting article came out.

"Thomas Jeremy Ausburg, who was married to Jacqueline Victoria Ausburg in 1970, was a famous pianist. Several years later, his wife gave birth to Joanne Alexandra Ausburg (1975) and to a pair of twins, George Alexander Ausburg and Freddie Alexander Ausburg (1988).
