"Let me open the door for you." I drove Jayce to the nearest hospital, apologising every 5 minutes or so. I opened the door at the hospital and almost smacked him in the face. Again. "I'm so sorry!"

"Don't!" he was holding a piece of cloth to his nose. "Stop saying that. I'm okay. It's nothing."

"Yeah, the blood on your shirt says otherwise." A nurse came to us.

"What happened to you?" she asked.

"I accidentally hi-"

"I was hit by a door" Jayce interrupted me. I looked at him confused. Why was he lying? The nurse took that as a good enough answer and guided him away down the hallway.

"Your girlfriend can come too." She turned to me.

"She's not my girlfriend!" he replied quickly. I was stunned and a little hurt by the sharpness in his voice.

"She can still come."

They were walking away and I started to follow, but then.."She's not coming. Let's just go."

She looked at him weirdly, but they continued to walk. I watched until they turned down the hallway and I couldn't see them anymore. I didn't know what to do so I just sat in the waiting area. I looked at my phone for the fifteenth time when I saw the nurse walk by. I stood up to walk to her but I saw Jayce at the front desk signing something and then he went straight for the door. I rushed to him.

"Hey!" I yelled after him. I'm sure he heard me but he didn't stop. He even picked up his speed. I ran after him and caught up with him outside. "Jayce, wait." I stopped him takinghim by the arm. "What happened? What did the doctor said? Is it broken?"

"It's nothing it's just a bruise." He wouldn't even look me in the eyes. He tried to walk away but I stopped him.

"Where are you going? I drove you here."

"I'll find a ride."

"What? No. I'll drive you home."

"I don't want you to. I think you've done enough.." He was angry. Why?

"I'm sorry I hit you, let me drive you home. I'm really sorry!" He just got angrier.

"Could you just leave me alone?!" He yelled at me. Stunned I took a step back and stopped talking. I thought for a second that I saw regret in his eyes when he saw me step back but he turned around quikly. "I'm fine." He said as he walked away. I walked back to my car and texted Chris: You're a dead man.

The twins didn't seem to be home so I just went to my room to do my homework. I was just finishing when I heard them coming.

"Hey, sis." Clayton's head popped up from the door.

"What have I told you about coming in here without knocking?"

"Nothing." Answered Carl.

"You actually told us we could come in here anytime we want." Clayton grinned at me.

"What if I had been naked?"

"Eww"

"Gross." They both covered each others' eyes and ran away. I swear they are such kids sometimes. I was still laughing when I got a text: You've gotta come here. I stood up to get my back for school and another one with a fresh change of clothes for tomorrow. I went downstairs and saw my mother drinking tea at the kitchen.

"Hey, mom. I'm staying at Ana's tonight."

"Okay. Don't stay up too late it's school night." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and grabbed a cookie from the counter.

"We won't." I walked in the garage, set the bags in the back and started the car. While I wondered why would he need me to go during the week I drove in the opposite direction of Ana's home and into the 2 hour drive I had ahead of me.

I had to get up at 4 a.m. to get to school in time. I was drinking my second cup of coffee when I parked at the almost empty parking lot at school. I didn't have the first period with any of my friends so I was safe from getting caught. As I walked in the classroom I wondered if I shared this class with Jayce. Why am I thinking about him? I wanted to slap myself. It's just because I hit him, that's all. I don't know if I was relieved or dissapointed about the fact that Jayce wasn't in my first period.

I saw Ana before our 3rd class we had together.

"Hey, you!" We hugged. She had no idea I supposedly spent the night at her place. I hate lying but i had no choice. "Have you seen Jayce?"

"No, but I kn-"

"He got into a fight!" she sounded almost excited as she interupted me.

"What? No. Who told you that?"

"Chris. He told me he had first period with Jayce and he had bruised nose."

"Oh, well he didn't got into a fight, not a real one actually. I hit him. By mistake!"

"What? Why would you hit him? Did he try to kiss you again?" She smirked. I hit her in the arm.

"No, he did not do such thing." I felt my cheeks blush. "He came with me to train and I accidentally hit him."

"Well, that's your virsion. He has another. Chris told me Jayce said it himself, he got into a fight with some dudes and almost got his nose broken." I was so confused. Why is he lying? Is he ashamed because he got beaten by a girl? That's stupid!

"I guess we'll see what he says at lunch."

I was still with Ana when we walked in the cafeteria later. We were waiting at the line when I spotted Chris, Jayce, Jessica and Jason alredy sitting on a table.

"Why would he lie, Chloe?" Ana asked.

"Wait, you think I'm lying?" I looked at her in disbelief.

"No, it's not that but it just seem strange. If it was an accident why don't he just say it as it is?"

"I don't know, but we're about to find out." We walked toward the table, he had his back on me. As we neared I was able to hear him.

"It was no big deal" he said."Just two guys looking for trouble."

"You beat up two guys on your own?" Jessica asked.

"As I said, no big deal." I could practically hear him smirk. I was so gonna enjoy ruining his little fake story.

"What exactly happened?" Jason asked him.

"When I was getting home two guys who looked like they had too much to drink decided I was the right guy to mess with."

"Is that so?" I asked with a smirk of my own."That's not what I remember."

Everyone looked at me, Jayce was the last one to face me and Oh, my God, what happened to his face? He was worse then the last time I seen him. Except his bruised nose, that was on me, he also had a black eye and a cut on the lip. I could barely recognise him. Maybe he wasn't lying after all..
