"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple."
― Dr. Seuss
I was beyond nervous. I left Jayce as soon as we enterted the place and mumbled something about getting changed. I put on yoga pants and t-shirt and for the first time I felt uncomfortable in them. But that wasn't my biggest problem. I was here with Jayce. Why am I here with him? I was worried he might laugh at me and says it's not for girls. Then I will kick his ass. So I was worried that he might get hurt, he said it's his first time. He's not gonna train with me. He's not gonna train at all. He's just gonna watch. Then I was back to being nervous he'd watch me. I had to stop hiding in the locker room and go face him. I walked trough the door and found him talking with two girls I remembered seeing here before. They looked really comfy there talking sweatly and giggling. I was surprised to see him changed in training clothes, too. Where did he get them from? He said something to one of the girls and showed her his sexy smile and...What? Sexy? I did not just thought that! The girl's laugh focused my attention on them again. I took my rubber band from my wrist and put my hair in a ponytail because I felt so hot. I was angry but I don't know why. I decided to leave Jayce there, he was doing great with the two bimbos. Lovely. I thought bitterly.I turned to go and do my routine before the training in pairs started.
"Hey, sis!" Oh, no!
"Carl, what are you doing here?" I looked for Clayton but he was not here. Phew. It wasn't their usual time to come here.
"I just came to grab something I forgot the other day."
"Oh, okay."
"Look, Chris told me something before lunch.." Oh, no. Again. He couldn't have told him about Jayce! "He said that you took something hot from France and Clayton and I should be prepared. What the hell was he talking about?" Chris must die. I will murder him first thing in the morning.
" I dunno. He was just messing around. Forget it. I gotta go." I tried to shove past him but blocked my way.
"You're hidding something. I know it. Tell me, I'm intrigued!" he was grinning at me waiting.
"No. Not true. Bye."I rushed past him successfully this time.
"Hmm, no" He laughed and I started running. I needed time to come up with some lame lie. He chaised me and I giggled. We used to do this a lot when we were younger. He caught me and started tickling me.
"No. Stop."I said through laughs."It's nothing, I promise."
"Tell me."
"Stop it. People are watching us!" People were giving us weird looks. I looked at Jayce, surprised to find he left his two friends and was halfway here with his face unreadable. " Ok, brother, I will tell you." He let go of me. Big mistake. The moment he released me I ran and shouted "See you later, Carl!" I hid behind a little group of people but Carl never followed me. I guessed he will corner me at home with Clayton and I made a mental note to avoid them tonight. However, someone else followed me.
"Who was that boy you were giggling with? " His voice sounded strange, reserved but at the end an angry note appeared.
"Carl?" I looked at him confused. He really doesn't remember him. He noddled sharply. "My brother." Within seconds he changed. His smirk appeared his posture relaxed and I didn't even notice he was tensed before. He looked relieved.
"Well, why didn't you introduce us?"
"He was in a hurry. Maybe some other time." Like never. I looked at him, he looked so beautiful with his hair falling on his forehead. His hair was messy and looked soft I wanted to run my finger throught it. It looked perfect on him.
"Sure. Let's go." The training in pairs had started. I followed him to the others looking for Sammy. Usually he was my partner but now he was nowhere to be seen. I tried to walk away from Jayce and find a partner but he caught my arm. "Where are you going partner?"
"Partner?" I did not want to be his partner. That meant I would be so close to him, touching him. What if I hurt him? No way. " You sure you don't want to find another partner. A beginner maybe. Someone of your friends from earlier?" I frowned as I said that.
"Are you afraid you might hurt me?" He teased.
" Yes." That was the truth. He laughed but quickly stopped when he realised I was serious. Then he smirked.
"You can't hurt me, little girl." Well, that was true if I didn't intend to and I wasn't about to, but if he didn't do the right thing at the right time I may do some damage.
"I'm not little!" He smirked. "You asked for it, big boy." We started with the easiest one I tried to explain everything to him, not waiting for the actual teacher to do so. He learned pretty fast. I tried not to think about the fact that we were so close, breathing each other's air. I went easy on him, maybe too easy.
"Don't be so gentle with me. I'm a big boy." He mocked. So he noticed. " Maybe I should have stayed with Stacy and Elizabeth after all." He was teasing me. I changed my tactic and went harder on him.
"Yeah, you should have done that." I said bitterly, but didn't stop attacking him. He was good at defense, but in attack he sucked. I thought he might not want to hurt me...No, why would he care? It's not like I am going easy on him. I was attacking faster and faster, speaking as I moved.
"Okay, so, to avoid a punch in the face, protect your face with your elbow, step forward and punch me with your free arm." I showed him the move alone then waited as he repeated it. " Let's do it now." I made two steps toward him throwing a punch which he successfully blocked but he didn't even try to return the punch. I was getting irritated. " Come on, J, punch me." He looked stunned and I felt the same because I have no idea why I called him that, anyway I stepped forward throwing the punch again, but he didn't made a move to protect himself and my hand collided with his nose. I wasn't able to stop myself on time and I was using almost all of my strenght. Fuck! He took a few steps backwards, his hands flew to his nose and tiny flow of blood showed between his fingers. He looked at me shoked and I stood frozen there with only one thought running through my mind. Oh God, I think I broke his nose!
