Nightingale returned to the office, looking down on the two men on the floor. Quickly, they got up, Miles still a bit fuzzy from the previous experience.
"I take it you are ready to go then." she said.
Miles glared at her, but didn't say anything, not exactly pumped for another experience like the last one.
"Follow me" Nightingale spoke, and she walked out of the room, not checking if any of the two men were actually following her.

The trip to the asylum was a long but familiar one, and after being escorted into a black jeep, followed by a trial of similar looking cars, they finally arrived at their destination: Mount Massive Asylum

Both men shuddered at the sight of the madhouse, having banned the experience from their conscious minds. As they got out of the car, Nightingale said: "After you gentlemen." and with a deep sigh the two of them made their way through the knocked down gates of the asylum, towards the place where all of their nightmares began.

"It actually doesn't look that bad" one of the military men that escorted them said. Miles looked at him as if he himself belonged in a madhouse. "You wait and see motherfucker" he whispered. "You wait and see."
Breaking into the asylum was certainly easier with those buff men breaking down the wooden doors. Instead of having to crouch through the dirt and climbing up an unstable construction stage, they immediately arrived in the lobby."
The smell of dead bodies and rot had become worse, and the men covered their noses, making noises of disgust. Nightingale, however, immediately proceeded into the next room, as though she was eager to find out more about the place.
"H-hold on! Slow down a bit miss Nightingale" one of the military men shouted at her.
Waylon and Miles still stood at the entrance, not knowing what to do with all the horrible memories about the place that flushed back to them.
They were cautiously nudged forward by two other men, snapping them both out of their thoughts and back into reality.

"Okay.." Waylon began. "I guess that if we want to find out where the patients went we'll have to check the security cameras"
"Awesome" Miles said. "Let's go then, I wanna get this over with as soon as fucking possible"

They were followed by both Nightingale and the military men, it was weird how much trust they were putting into the two men, without knowing if they even lead them to the right place.
They arrived at the security room, its door still bashed down from the time when Walker went there in search of Miles. It had been their second encounter then, but that didn't make it less terrifying. Just when they were about to turn on one of the computers and put on one of the surveillance tapes, power shut off.

"Fuck. Fuck, fuck, FUCK" Miles shouted. "Why did this have to happen again?" Miles was having a major deja vu from the first time he visited the place, having to get down into the basement to put back on the power. "What do we have to do mr. Upshur?" Nightingale asked him, pulling out a flashlight. "We gotta go down into the basement, put on the gas to be able to turn a handle and push a button to restore power again." Miles explained. "Guess it should be a lot easier now that we've got you guys, Miles said, glancing at the men escorting them with guns. "Okay, you stay here" she said pointing at the men escorting them, "and me, Miles and Waylon will go down into the basement to restore the power." "Uhhh, not be the party pooper here, but I think we should bring one of these guys" Waylon got into the conversation, pointing at the armored men.
"Okay" Nightingale said, making a sign at one of them.

The descent into the basement frightened Miles. The whole place was fucked up and the smell of dead bodies made him gag. A quick glance at Waylon taught him that he was on the edge of fainting from the dreaded smell that came up his nose.
Looking behind him he saw that Nightingale actually had some expression on her face. The hand that held her flashlight was trembeling.

Finding the two valves was a lot easier now without some Variant patrolling the place in search of something to kill. Therefore, turning the two valves and the handle was easy, but upon arriving at the tool that was supposed to put the power back on, they saw that it was completely demolished, electric sparks emerging from the pole the machine once stood on.
"I'm pretty sure it hadn't been this way when we came in here.." Waylon broke the dead silence that had come over the three of them at sight of the scene.
"You know damn well we didn't!" Miles shouted, his agressiveness errupting to the surface again, but upon sight of Waylon, who flinched at his sudden outburst of anger, he quickly regained himself.
"Let's just get the fuck out of here."

Walking up the stairs again, Waylon noticed something odd.
"Wait, where's the guy?" He asked, his voice drained with fear. They all stopped dead in his tracks.
"Nobody move" Nightingale whispered. "If something wanted to kill us, it already would've"
"You think?" Miles huffed. "I don't know about you guys but I'm getting to fuck out of here." Upon those words Miles began to ascent the metal stairs that would lead him to supposed safety. Waylon and Nightingale remained petrified, staring at Miles while he walked the stairs.
Suddenly a loud bang was heard, and an inhuman sound filled the lower quarters of the Asylum. Looking at eachother with dread invading their bodies, they quickly recovered from their trance and stumbled upon the stairs, just to get away from whatever was down there.
