Flames burst above the car in the dark of night as snow fluttered to the ground. I managed to climb up and out of the broken window of my parents truck, I had managed only cuts, bruises and maybe a broken left wrist. Our car was upside down, and my mother and father's limp bodies hung in their seats. I tried to get to them, but a man yelled outside. I was scared, sad, and so, I fled. "Wait little girl!" But I kept running into the dark. Down a street, into an alley, down a street, into an alley, down another street, into another alley until it became a dead end. I fell to my knees, trying to catch my breath and felt a warm tear slide down my cheek, despite the cold. What happened? Where are mommy and daddy? But I knew they were long gone. And so, I slowly drifted into a slumber...
