I had arrived at the orphanage, and was surprised to see it so clean, classy, and with no toys whatsoever. A girl named Cincinnati greeted me, and showed me my bed. A small chalkboard hung above it with the name Alex on it. "Rules: 1. No toys or electronics, except if your Elisabeth, Ms. Aleecia's daughter, who gets whatever she wants. 2. Stay in YOUR rank. Elisabeth and Ms. Aleecia are on top, then Carol and Haley, in the middle are Beth, Margo and me, and on the bottom, you. That's all in order. 3. Do WHATEVER Ms. Aleecia says or what Elisabeth says. 4. Use proper manners. 5. The lower rank you are at, the more chores you must do daily, even if you are sick or hurt. 6. Never have fun. 7. Only go outside with someone a rank above you. We are homeschooled. You must be up at 5:30, though the higher the rank, the later you sleep in. Breakfast is at 7:30 am sharp, lunch is at 12:00 pm sharp, and dinner is at 5:30 pm sharp. Lights out is at 7:30 pm for you, but the higher your rank, the longer you may stay up. Same goes for your freedoms. That is all. Get washed up for dinner, it is stew tonight." She reported flatly. Wow. Those are a lot of rules. But I won't stand for them. If Elisabeth gets special treatment into being rotten and bullying, then I have my protection trigger pulled on my loyalty gun.
