"No! No! No! No! Don't make me go through yet another show without my guitar!" I folded my arms and sighed.
"It's one song! C'mon!" David looked at me with pleading eyes.
"Fine, but you guys owe me!"
"Right! We've gotta practice for whatever we are doing with the Swinging Sixties Sirens... Where are they?"
I shrugged. "More importantly where is Tommy and Andy?!"
"Hell knows!"
"I think we ought to buy a leash for them..."
"They'd find a way around it..." David laughed and started kicking his legs on the edge of the stage.
We sat in awkward silence for a bit before Andy, Tommy, Chase and the rest of the SSS came leisurely walking down the grassy strip. I looked up and shook my head in mock disappointment. "I can't leave you two alone without you walking off..."
"Ever so sorry-" Andy smiled at me sarcastically then linked arms with Chase. "Just been spending time with MY new boyfriend-"
Chase was dying to burst out laughing, I could tell, but he kept a straight face. "I'm sorry Angie! Andy just has more than you ever will!"
I put the back of my hand to my forehead and sighed deeply "Oh, how will I ever cope?"
Andy looked at me with his head cocked to one side. "You're serious? I can keep him?"
"As long as he doesn't poop on the carpet, why not!" I stuck out my tongue at Chase, then laughed at his horrified expression. "Andy... I think you are scaring the poor guy!"
"No way-" Andy dropped Chase's arm and stepped away, causing Tommy to bump into him.
Chase stood in front of me and took my hands in his. "I hope you aren't too mad with me! Take me back Angie, I was young and oh so foolish!"
"Never!" I pouted and shook my hands from his. "I don't care if you were young. You broke my heart!"
"Aww, C'mon Babe! It was a one time thing!"
I turned and looked at him, my serious expression growing worried. I burst into laughter and conceded. "You broke me! Never say that last sentence again! It's just damn right disturbing-"
"Especially 'coz it was Andy..."
I jumped down off the edge of the stage and joined the rest of my band and the SSS. "We gonna rehearse? Everyone knows Arizona, Right?"
Everyone nodded, looking at each other.
I sighed with relief. "So between us we have two Bassists, at least four of us who can play electric and Andy on the drums-"
"I'm guessing we are singing then-" Chase nudged me in the arm, a smile on his face
"You guessed correctly!" I returned the smile, leaning into his side.
---
We worked out that Andy would be rocking the drums, Ashley, David and Joel would be shredding electric, Tommy and Matt would be on Bass (After discovering his amazing hidden talent) and Chase and I would be singing.
"You guys! You are amazing! The chemistry is just, there!" Andy slapped his hand to mine with a smile.
"Well, we are going out-" I said, leaning into Chase.
"We know but even if you weren't your voices would still sound awesome together!" David and Joel joined us, looking quite pleased.
I grinned from ear to ear. "Thanks! You were awesome too! Nice twist on the solo!"
Tommy peeked out from behind Matts shoulder. "Matt and I deserve credit too! Bass is the storyline to a song. The actual beat..."
"I think you will find the beat is down to me..." Andy raised his hand in the air and waved it about, trying to get his point across.
"Yeah but all you have to do is hit those things with the sticks! Bass requires metabolism and hand eye coordination!" Tommy raised his eyebrows, wanting to sound all smart.
"I'll be hitting YOU with these sticks in a minute..." Andy narrowed his eyes and pointed his drumsticks at Tommy, who held up his hands in defence.
"Ladies, calm it. Again!" I smiled, putting my arm in between Tommy and Andy.
Chase grinned. "I can hold your earrings Andy!"
"That's quite enough of that!" Andy hit Chase on the arm lightly.
I buried my face in my hands and started laughing. "I give up!"
Chase took that moment to pick me up and sling me over his shoulder. "C'mon you-"
"But-" I looked up at the group who were getting further away as Chase walked down the stage. Ashley's face was a picture, If only I could have reached to get my phone out of my pocket, it would have been a Rad Christmas Card Design.
"No buts on this one!"
I started laughing. "You just said-"
"I am aware of what I just said!" Chase's voice went serious. "Dirty child"
"But you love me anyways!" I smiled innocently.
"I have to, unfortunately!"
"Be like that then!"
Again, I had no idea where we were going, but I didn't care!
As long as I'm with Chase.
