It was about 2pm by the time Chase and I got back to the ring of tents. The boys, surprise surprise, were still sat soaking up the sun in the same place as they were two hours before. Chase was telling me a story from when he was younger, but in all honesty, I wasn't listening. He was just- perfect. I wanted to stare at him all day (which would be creepy, I know! But don't judge a girl! He's hot!)
"Ooh. She's back!" Shouted David as we came into view around the corner. "How was the date with lover boy?"
"Way to make it subtle guys!" I laughed "I wouldn't call it a date!"
"Well what would you call it?" Chase asked, cocking his head to one side.
"Aww! Come on! Don't make it awkward" I buried my face and laughed. "What do you want me to call it"
"Date doesn't sound TOO bad if you ask me..."
I felt my cheeks blush pink. "Fine. Date then!"
A group 'N'awwwwww' came from the guys as we sat down on the grass with them.
"So what did you guys talk about? Tommy said, nudging my arm.
"Oh you know, stuff!" My cheeks flushed a deeper pink, nearly red.
The gained me another group 'N'awwwwww'
"Will you guys be quiet! We just went for a walk!"
"For a walk huh? Is that why you have rose petals down your top?" Andy said, pointing.
"Ok, So you caught us out!" Chase said and winked at me. "We weren't walking!"
"HA! I knew it!" Andy smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.
I removed the rose petals from my cleavage and flicked them at Andy.
"We were running through flower fields, holding hands and singing to The Sound Of Music!"
"Talk about strange!" Tommy shook his head.
"Anyway! I've got sound checks now but I hate to leave you and your fabulous-" Chase took my hand in his and kissed the back of it, then dropped it as he stood up to go find the rest of his Band.
As soon as he was out of sight all three guys pounced on me, literally, pinning me to the grass. "Get off!" I managed to say through laughing.
"Not until you tell us EVERYTHING!" Andy said, narrowing his eyes.
"Everything? Well okay then...!" I said, trying to push David off my stomach.
"By a matter of fact... I don't think I want to know!" Tommy sat back and laughed. "At least tell me why you had flowers down your top-" He then spotted the rose in my hair "And in your hair!"
"Are you two going out?" Andy whispered, finally moving off my shoulders. "David, get up!"
"No! She's comfy!" David groaned, then seemed to get comfy.
His hair was tickling my stomach but I just ignored it. "I don't think so! Why is it such a big deal!"
Tommy looked at me, his hands on his cheeks. "Because It's my baby sisters first love!"
"No. You lie my Tommy friend!" David began "She had that boyfriend in, like, freshman year or something!"
"It was 8th Grade actually!" Andy added.
"What was his name, I forget!" Tommy asked.
I just sighed and picked up my sunglasses that were on the grass where I'd previously left them. I put them on David and starting laughing. "You have the attention span of a pigeon..." He said to me as he sat up.
"It got you off me though and his name was Jake, Happy now?"
"No!" Tommy answered, his bottom lip shaking like he was about to cry.
"Tough!" I stuck out my tongue at him and as if by magic The Swinging Sixties Sirens began to do their sound checks. I must have perked up because Andy was smiling idiotically at me. "C'mon guys!"
The boys groaned as they stood up. I held up my hands so they could pull me up, which they did eventually. "ANGIE AND CHASE, SITTIN' IN A TREE. DOING THINGS THEY SHOU-"
I hit Tommy in the stomach as we walked over to the tent. "Shut it" I could feel my cheeks rush pink again as Chase winked at me from behind his drum kit. Why is he so cute? WHY?!
---
The song they sang was pretty good! I mean, I could see how they played South. It was traditional rock and roll style, like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Aerosmith. I love that sort of music. My mom and dad grew up listening to it, so did Tommy, so naturally I kinda have to like it. Chase was an amazing drummer. Technically I'm not aloud to think that because of our band, but no one will know. Shhh.
Joel and Matt were too hilarious on stage. When ever they weren't singing they were jumping around the stage, Joel actually playing guitar and Matt just bossing at air guitar. Ashley just stood there, her expression as boring as her brown electric guitar.
"So! What do you think?" Chase said, crouching down on the edge of the stage, his drumsticks still in his hand.
"Wow..." That was all I could say, but not because of the drumming. His hair had fallen forward onto his face like in the Same way Andy's did when he was drumming. Do all drummers have that haircut? His blue eyes were bright and shining and he looked REALLY warm. Well who wouldn't be wearing tight pants in this weather.
"Really? Thanks!" He smiled wide, his perfect teeth showing and his nose crinkling up. Again I say, WHY IS HE SO CUTE!
"No problem! We should do a set together sometime during the week. I'm sure the guys would love that..."
"I don't think they mind!" Chase pointed at the boys who were leant over the safety barrier, all nodding and they had their thumbs up. Why must they listen in to all my conversations?
"It's a deal then!" I shook the hand that wasn't holding the drumsticks awkwardly as we were both left handed and shaking with the right just felt... Wrong.
