Richard rode back to Fiedith, headed to Crystaliron. To become faster, he enchants his horse with the Power of the Wind, and they zoomed into the landscape.
It was a four-day ride going back to Crystaliron. It was a four-day ride to travel to Eldmer, so he won't be back to Crystaliron in a week and a day.
The horse got tired. They slowed to a walk.
"Go, horse," Richard urged the horse to go faster, but the beast was too exhausted of the fast running.
"Well, I guess you are pretty exhausted with that running. I'm exhausted myself, so let us rest."
They found a decent place to rest. They were surrounded by trees, so they have cover for rest.
Richard tied his horse to a tree, then, he used his Power of Conjuration to Conjure up a tent. The tent was a small one, with a bed inside and it has a floor. But the tent itself is made of some material that is hard to penetrate. The "door" of the tent was a real door. That act made him more exhausted than ever.
He pat his horse, and said, "Good night."
He entered his tent and sealed the door shut.
He put down his stuff into the floor. He took off his clothes, revealing the hard muscles underneath from all the training he had, except his trousers.
He Conjured up a short table to put all of his things above it.
He went to his bed, and went to sleep.
*
That night, he dreamed. He dreamed of an eerie landscape, with dead trees and leaves everywhere. Green lands were so far, far away. The sky was gray, dead like the surrounding former-flora.
He looked at himself. He was wearing dark robes. He was holding a staff. A long, wooden one. No. A long, adamant one. There was a circle in its tip, and has three golden gems inside the circle. It looks like the circle is using magic to hold the gems intact.
Wait. He remembers from his lessons that no other staff was made of adamant. Everything was made of wood, or metal if you are good enough. But not adamant. Adamant is so rare that it can only be found in one place, and is not in the territory of Humans, or Elves, or Dwarves. So, this only means that...
He is holding the Staff of Destiny. Wielded by the Wizard Merlin to defeat the Dark Wizard Yul. But eventually, Merlin was corrupted by the power of the Staff, and Merlin became the next Dark Wizard. He was vanquished by the combination of High King Nadur Oak and Queen Clarisse's Powers, plus the strength of the Dwarven King Ikzmir and his son, Prince Zirk.
He saw in his dream a pool of water. It was dark and murky, but glowing.
He stared at the pool, until something arose from it.
No, not something. Someone.
His body walked to the person. He can't control it.
It was a person. A human. He was wearing black robes and has a hood that hid his face from sight. He holds a material. A wand. Made of black material. "It could be one of adamant as well," Richard thought.
"Who are you," the black robed person asked Richard. The person was a male.
"I am Drake, the one who brought back your soul to this plane," Richard said to the black robed man, still not gaining control of his body.
He said he was Drake. Drake is his brother, the Exiled One. Is Richard in Drake's body? How?
Why is he in Drake's body?
"Oh hello, my boy," the person told Richard/Drake. "Finally, you have come."
"Travelling was hard for me, especially that they know my mission now."
"Well, let us go."
"Wait, Yul." Drake/Richard mentioned to the person. Yul is the Dark Wizard that Merlin has defeated. "Drake must be gathering every ally he can," Richard thought. "But Yul was dead. He was vanquished by Merlin centuries ago."
"Do not break your allegiance," Drake/Richard told Yul.
"Why, yes, boy," Yul said to Drake/Richard.
Yul and Drake/Richard entered the pool of murky water. And the dream ended.
*
Richard was awake. He saw that he is still in his tent.
"Kind of a weird dream," he told himself. "Well, I need to keep going now."
His stomach growled at that.
"But first, hunting."
He got up his bed, headed to the table. He put on his clothes. He got in his bag a short stone and a long stone. He willed the stones to transform into what they really are. The short stone became a bow, and the long stone became a quiver full of arrows.
He transformed his bag into a small thing, and stuffed it in his pocket.
"Not gonna use magic to hunt. I'm better off with the traditional ways," Richard told himself.
He slung the quiver onto himself, held the bow, and got out of the tent. He sealed the door shut again.
He approached his horse.
"Good morning. You hungry, boy," he asked his horse.
His horse neighed at that.
"Well, I'll be right back, huh?" He pat hishorse and went into hunting for food.
