Chapter Five

dedicated to her cause she was the only one to comment on the last chapter ^_^

I took a breath in an attempt to calm myself but I only seemed to grow more nervous. "Hey" I replied letting out my breath I didn't know I was holding in. I looked at Ashley who gave me a soft smile.

"We’ll leave you two alone, I'm sure you have things to talk about"

I watched as Lucy instantly stood up and walked out with Ashley, leaving me and Aaron alone in the room. I slowly looked up to face him, into those gorgeous, mesmerising eyes and I suddenly couldn't look away.

"Leah!"

I snapped out of my daydream once a voice broke through, I looked at him. "Huh?"

"You okay?"

"Oh, um, yeah, sorry" I covered my face with my hair as I felt a blush creep up on my cheeks.

"I’m sorry"

I looked up as I heard Aaron say that.

"I’m sorry I don't remember you, to be honest, I don't remember much, I just sort of remember Kevin and Lucy"

I felt my heart sink, feeling as if something really bad had happened. "What happened?"

"I got into an accident, I was in a coma for a really long time, I don't remember much, I wish I did, Kevin told me we were best friends"

I felt my heart sink for the way I treated him, Monica was right, he had a legit reason, he wasn't those people you often hear about; that they change for the worst once they leave home. "I’m so sorry Nick, yeah, we were best friends, really close, until you left, that is"

"I would like us to be friends again; maybe we could start by going out to lunch tomorrow?"

I smiled, happy but sad at the same time, my crush was still there, the one I had on Aaron. “I’d love that, superman" My eyes widened as I realised what I had just said, I slowly looked up to him as a look of confusion washed over his face.

"What did you just call me?"

"I’m sorry, it just slipped out.." I looked at Nick who was deep in thought as if the word meant something.

"Why does that sound so familiar?"

I bit my bottom lip as I stood up. "Do you want anything to drink?"

The Next Day

I walked out the restaurant with Aaron, lunch went good if not a little awkward, now we were on our way back to his in time for Kevin's surprise party since it was his birthday. I walked into the house with Aaron, seeing Ashley and Kyle rushing around, getting things ready as Lucy was busy keeping Kevin occupied.

"Hey guys"

Kyle looked up as he flashed a smile. "Hey, how was lunch?"

I looked at Aaron who gave me a small smile. "It was good, what can we help with?"

"It’s okay, we got it Lee, just go and sit down or something"

"SURPRISE"

I laughed along with everyone else at the look on Kevin's face, I walked up to him. "Hey, happy birthday"

"Thanks Leah" he said after getting over his shock

Later

I wondered into the backyard, a cup of drink in my hands, I sat down on the grass, enjoying the cool breeze when I saw Aaron come in and join me. "Hey there"

"Hey.."

"What's up?"

"I don't know why, but the fact that you said superman to me is bothering me, like it means something important or something.."

I looked down as I felt tears line my eyes, it hurt that my superman was sitting right next to me and he didn't even know it

It had a couple days since Kevin’s birthday and I was currently at lunch with Monica, talking to her about what happened at the party. "It hurts so bad Mom, it seems like he is so close to remembering and that is killing me slowly, I just want my Aaron back..."

"Oh Leah, just give it time. I’m sure everything will work out for the best"

"I’m sorry, enough about me, how are you?"

"Good, my relationship on the other hand is slowly falling apart"

"I’m sorry..."

"Don't be, maybe it's for the best"

Later

I walked up to a park bench and found Aaron there, waiting for me, I smiled as I sat down beside him. "Hey Aaron"

He looked at me as he smiled his famous smile. "Hey back to you"

I smiled as I looked ahead. "This place brings back so many memories, we always used to come here after school and just hang out together, it was awesome" I look at Aaron who frowns probably frustrated, I smiled a little, damn he looked cute when he was confused.

"I’m sorry Leah, I want to remember, I just can't..."

I stood up as I laughed a little. "Well, how about we create new ones?"

I took off running; laughing as Aaron chased behind me, chuckling.

Suddenly I felt two strong arms wrap around me, securely, I leaned back in his embrace as my smile grew bigger. "Looks like you caught me superman"

Aaron’s POV

As Leah said the word ‘superman’ again, my mind went into flashback mode, suddenly flashes of me and Leah when we were younger hit me, hard and fast, I let go of Leah as I fell to the ground, groaning in pain as my head began to throb from the impact of the many flashback, suddenly Leah’s voice broke through.

"Aaron! You okay? Please tell me if you’re okay!"

I nodded as I struggled a small smile. "I remember.."
