Chapter Three

"A-Aaron?"

He just blankly looked at me as he blinked.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?"

My heart fell as I felt tears come to my eyes, I quickly looked down.

"Nevermind..."

Everyone went back to their seats, I slowly looked up at Aaron who was sat opposite me, he gave me a quick smile before looking down at his menu, I sighed, he had forgotten me, my best friend had forgotten me, my superman was right here and he doesn't even know it...

An hour and a half later

I pushed past Kyle as he unlocked the front door and ran straight to my room as tears began to fall from my eyes, he promised me would never forget me, I picked up a photo frame of Aaron and I as my tears dropped blurring out his face, I sobbed harder as I fell to the ground, clutching the picture. I heard a knock on the door and the sound of Ashley's voice.

"Leah, please let me in"

I sniffed as I slowly got up and opened the door before returning to my bed, the photo frame still in my hands. Ashley quickly walked in and sat beside me, pulling me into a comforting hug.

"What's wrong baby?"

"It was him Ash, Aaron, it was him"

Ashley just looked at me for a second before the look of recognition flooded her face.

"Aaron, as in your childhood friend Aaron?"

"Yes, and he didn't even remember me..."

"Oh Leah, I'm sorry"

I sobbed into her chest as I cried.

"I just can't believe he forgot me, after he promised he wouldn't.."

I walked into my office the next day, deep in thought and still upset over last night, I walked by Monica’s desk and didn't even hear her call out to me until I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to face her, she smiled at me.

"Someone's off in daydream land"

"Sorry, I had a bad night"

"Dinner was that bad huh?"

I sighed as I took a seat. "Bad would be an understatement"

She took a seat beside me, clearly intrigued by what happened. "Leah, what happened?"

"Remember I told you about my best friend who moved away?" I stole a glance at her, seeing her nodding. "Well, I saw him last night and he didn't even remember me..."

I took a deep shaky breath as tears began to roll down my cheeks, it was a good thing I decided on no make-up in the morning, and Monica wrapped her arms around me in a comforting hug.

"Oh hun, I'm so sorry.."

"I just wouldn't think you would forget your best friend you know, I mean we knew each other since forever, well it seems like forever anyway"

Meanwhile

Aaron’s POV

I walked downstairs after having a shower and getting dressed, I walked into the kitchen where I found my brother and his wife. I took a seat besides Lucy as Kevin plated up breakfast. "Morning"

Lucy smiled at me as she handed me a cup of coffee. "Morning, did you have a good sleep?"

I nodded as I took a small sip of my coffee before placing it down besides my plate, I waited for Kevin to sit down before asking the question burning in my mind since last night. "Hey guys, that girl last night, who was she?" I looked at them as they looked at each other, probably debating on whether to tell me or not. "Guys, please, the way she looked at me, I feel as if I should know her.."

Kevin let go of a sigh as he looked at me. "Her name’s Leah Samuels"

I nodded as I waited for him to continue, I switched my gaze to Dani as she spoke.

"When you were in school, you were best friends"

I groaned in annoyance. "It sucks, not being able to remember things, no wonder she looked so sad last night.."
