Lauren's P.O.V.
"Good morning." Spencer's confused voice said, over my shoulder. I turned to face him, smiling slightly.
"It's one in the afternoon." I corrected him. I turned back, attending to my tea. He put his hands around my waist.
"Why are you so dressed up?" He questioned me, rocking back and fourth.
"I told you this morning... My mother called and requested I see her." I stirred sugar into the cup.
"Your mother?" Spencer sounded surprised. I rolled my eyes, although he couldn't see it. I snapped, "yes my mother. Why are you shocked?"
"Maybe because you have not mentioned her since that night-"
"When Jason kicked me out? Yeah. I haven't seen her for about a year, nor talked to her. But..." I looked at my watch. "But i have to go soon." I smiled at him before running to the door where my shoe were. I plucked my heels up and shoved them on my feet, running out the door.

"Hi mom." I said, walking towards where she was sitting. She looked up at me and nodded, smiling.
"Hello, Lauren." She stood, reaching her hand out. "Long time, no see." She was wearing classy, elegant clothing. We were inside of a big fancy hotel, which she was staying at.
"Should we leave?" I asked, gesturing towards the front door. She nodded, taking her white handbag up and pressing it to her side. We walked out together and got into my car. The drive was relatively silent. It was only about six minutes.
We arrived in front of the restaurant. I opened the glass doors for her and she stepped in, her very tall heels. They were pearly white, like the rest of her outfit. I came behind her, looking at the woman in the front. "Hill." I said to her. She checked her papers and guided us to a nice little table for two.
Mother looked over the menus before she looked up. "How are you doing, Lauren?"
"Good, I guess." I said, looking over them. She looked at my finger before looking looking up, her eyebrows arched.
"Still no man, I see." She sounded disappointed. "Is it because of the way you-"
I cut her off, "Actually, I do have a boyfriend. His name is Spencer."
"Oh." She looked up, surprised. One thing I disliked about my mom is she always tried to find something to judge me on. "Spencer, huh? What's he do for a living."
Quick to answer, I eagerly sputted, "He works for the FBI." She nodded, almost approving. She opened her mouth but a tall male waiter walked up. He smiled at both of us.
"How are you two fine ladies this afternoon?" He asked, taking out his little book. "What can I get you to drink?" He looked at both of us.
"Water." Mom answered. And then I requested, "Sweet tea."
He closed the book and shoved the pen away. He walked into the staff door.
"I heard Jason was having a kid." She said, still reading through the menu. I looked up, almost angry. The waiter put our drinks on the table. He asked if we were ready, but we asked for a few extra minutes. I looked back at mom.
"Where did you hear that?" I asked, mad.
"You know I know his mom." She answered, not looking at me.
"Okay..." I looked back at the menu. We sat in silence for a minute before she said, almost under her breath, "When is that going to happen to you?"
"What?" I sat back in my seat.
"When are you going to have a kid? Just a question."
"Mom." I began, "Why do you have to be this way?"
"Maybe if you improved your cleaning skills, Spencer may just want to ha-" She jumped as I threw the menu on the table. I pushed myself up.
"You know, Mom, it's really not your place. Maybe if you weren't such a cold hard bitch, dad wouldn't have killed himself." I shouted. People looked my way. She looked up, in awe.
"I did have a kid." I said. She looked almost sad, like she was on the verge of crying. "And in case you're wondering, it died."
I stormed out of the restaurant, leaving her there. I didn't want to see her- Ever. Again.
I got into my car, throwing my head into my hands, crying. I threw my purse in the passenger's seat. My head began to hurt and I had a sudden burst of nausea. I opened the door, sticking my head out. I puked on the side of the street. When I threw my head back against the seat, breathing heavily, I heard my phone vibrating. Quickly, I read it, Spencer.
"Hi." I said, putting it to my ear. I started driving away while he was on the phone with me.
