Boram's POV
My phone rang and it was the person I never wanted to talk to.Appa.
My phone's been ringing for a couple of seconds already, I still don't know if I should pick it up or not.
I decided to pick it up anyway because maybe he'll finally leave me alone, or maybe this is something important.
Me : "What?"
Appa : "Now, now that's not how you should talk to your dad."
Me : "I don't have a reason to respect you anymore."
Appa : "I have good news."
Me : "You have 1 more night left to live, that's great!"
Appa : "No, how could you disrespect your own father like that?"
Me : "How could you control your own daughter, I lost everything my mom, my Jin, my life."
Appa : "...."
Me : "Just tell me the 'good news'."
Appa : "I'm going to fly to Korea, your going to have an engagement party and I invited everyone you know. Even that boy you love."
Me : "Are you kidding me."
Appa : "I'm not, dear. Have fun the party will be tomorrow. I already told Tao about it. Love you."
Then he hung up, I clutched on my phone tightly, my knuckles turning white.
He can't just can't control my life over business.
What kind of person does he even think he is?
I called Tao and told him to meet me at the park, he said he'll be there in a few minutes because he can't find one of his Gucci bags.
I walked to the park, Tao wasn't there yet so I sat on one of the swings while looking at my surroundings.
If only my life could be peaceful like this, soft comforting wind hitting your skin, the grass supporting you below, you just feel happiness like these kids who were laughing while running around.
But its not my life is like i'm a doll being controlled by its owner. Nothing but sadness and anger is what i'm feeling. Instead of the soft breezing wind comforting me its making me cold like it.
A few minutes later I saw Tao walking towards me, his hands in his pockets while walking casually.
"Hey Boram." He said and sat at the other swing beside me.
"Did my dad tell you about it already?" I asked and he nodded.
"I'm sorry." He suddenly apologized.
"You don't have to be, its not your fault that my dad organized a stupid engagement party." I answered and gave him a pat on the back.
He shook his head and said. "That's not what I meant. I'm sorry for cheating on you, breaking your heart, I don't know what I was thinking then. And now all I think is that its my fault that we got engaged. Your heart has been broken twice and that's because I was so stupid-"
"Ta-"
"Wait, i'm not finished. I should've treasured you, treated you like how a real boyfriend does. Yeah maybe you already forgave me but I can't..." He said.
"That's all in the past now, okay? Its not your fault my dad knew your parents, that's why they agreed on doing this thing. For the cheating thingy, I couldn't blame you either, I fell for it. But at least we're friends now right?" I tried cheering him up and he gave me a small smile.
