The woman continued making some sign language movements.
"Communication" He started.
"I'm sorry?" I replied.
"She said her favourite word was communication."
"Why is that so Mrs?"
She continued her sign language.
"She said it was because she was born without the ability to talk but she can still communicate with me through sign language. Therefore, communication."
Before i could continue, someone hugged me from behind.
"Hey how you doing?"
"I'm fine."
I smiled. It was Nigel, i was longing for him to visit me.
"I'm here to fetch you home,the doctor said you can leave early, let's go."
"Where's Alex?"
"I'm guessing he got in detention again for reaching school late, it's pretty normal."
My face showed a sign of disappointment. Before i knew it, Nigel put his hands in mine and walk to my ward. He helped me pack my belongings as my dominant hand was sprained. Then, he sent me to his house since it was closer. He jumped on the couch and nap, that was fast.
It was 7.30PM in the evening and there was still no calls or messages from Alex. I decided to go out and look for him since our house was quite close to Nigel's. I didn't want to wake Nigel up since he was still sleeping and he is beat. I walked out of the door quietly with my phone and walked to his block. As i was walking, i texted him that i'll not be home for that day since i was lazy to move back home and i didn't want to trouble Nigel. I also made a short note that i'll be dropping by for awhile.
As i walked closer to our block, i saw him. He was walking to the void deck's table with two bottle of beers. I can't believe he decided to drink two bottle of beers alone, wow. I decided to speed up my pace when.. i saw a Alex pass a bottle to a girl. My heart felt.. strange. I camped closer to them where i can hear their conversation to see what was going on. As i got closer, i realised it was Claire.
"Thanks for leaving me alone back there after running off for Lily?"
She started.
"I'm sorry, okay? Good things got to wait."
He continued.
"Wait what? I've waited for a year already, you've lived with her for a year. Isn't that enough for you to make a move and go with our plans already?"
"Okay okay i promise i'll do it very soon okay?"
Suddenly, Claire stood up and sat beside him. I could see and hear every single thing clearly, my heart was hurting but i can't move.. I was too shocked and i just couldn't move, my heart couldnt obey my mind.
Claire moved her right hand to Alex's back and her left hand pushed his chin closer to hers. She started kissing him and Alex didn't push her away.. Alex continued and followed. My eye was tearing up but i couldn't move. Please, someone get me out of here already..
Suddenly, someone from behind took my hand and spun me to his chest with his right hand covering my ears.
I don't know who it was, but i really needed it. I had no time to see or think who he was but i'm really grateful. He carried me the princess way, making sure he didn't press on my sprained hand. I was too embarassed to open my eyes and see who he was. I just continued crying as the scene kept playing in my head. After a few minutes, he placed me down at a nearby void deck's chair.
He squat down in front of me and used both his hands to wipe my tears away. I hasn't opened my eyes.
"Thank you.." I murmured.
He didn't say a word. He placed a envelope in my hands and kissed me on my forehead before leaving. I didn't retaliate because i didn't notice until he left as i was still too saddened.
I slowly walked back to Nigel's after calming myself a little. I could see from far that Nigel was pacing back and forth, damn it.
"Hey Nigel.."
"Lily! Where have you been? You could have told me where you went and i could have followed you, ya know?"
My eyes began tearing up again and I leaned on his chest.
"Nigel.. What should I do.."
I muttered as i cried in his chest.
"Wow wow what happened! Let's enter the house first, alright?"
I nodded.
I explained everything in detail including the guy that i never knew helped me, except the envelope. I hid it in my back pocket.
Nigel was raging but he cooled down after awhile. I told him that i have decided to break up with Alex as i couldn't handle it anymore. I thought he changed for a better and i thought what i saw back there before in the school was just an incident. However after what i saw i know it was not just an incident anymore.
"Don't worry, i'll help you. I'll help you tell him tomorrow. For now,just stay at my house alright? My mum knows you, she will allow you. Besides, Mandy would love it too. From now on, walk home with me okay? I don't want Alex to harass you. I know i'm not in the same Maths class as you but i'll try my best to help you to stay away from him."
He listed out everything like he planned it before. I just agreed because i didn't know what else to do. He showed me to the guest room and he notified his mother on Whatsapp. I hugged him before he leave the room because i was really thankful to him.
Suddenly, he kissed me on my lips before leaving the room and i was shocked. My heart fluttered a little and i felt butterflies in my stomach. This is so weird, i have always thought what the television series said was stupid, how could we feel butterflies in our stomach? But for that moment, i swear i felt it.
