Lizzie, Joel and Buddy arrived at the park. Lizzie sat on a bench and pet Buddy on her lap. So beautiful, Joel thought. He stared at Lizzie.
"Joel? Is there something wrong?" Lizzie asked. "Take a seat!"
"Oh, sure, but," Joel said and he put Buddy on the other side of the bench. "Stand up."
Lizzie stood up and held Joel's hands. Joel began to speak.
"Lizzie, ever since I met you, I felt something in my heart. Something very deep that carries on until today. You made me realise that... That I'm in heaven. Lizzie heaven," Joel said as he looked into Lizzie's eyes. Lizzie blushed.
"So, I need to ask you something," Joel said, then he kneeled down on one knee.
"Aw, Joel!" Lizzie said, hand covering her mouth in shock.
"Elizabeth Dwyer, will you marry me?" Joel asked.
Lizzie looked at Joel in mixed feelings. "My answer is..." she said, pausing. "No."
Joel looked at her in disbelief. His heart shattered into a million pieces. He unkneeled and dropped a tear on his cheek.
"Sorry Joel, I'm not re-" she said, but then Joel pulled her into a passionate kiss.
They stopped. "Joel! What is wrong with you?!" Lizzie shouted. Just then, Joel fainted.
"Joel?! No.. No.. Joel?! I didn't mean it that way! Joel please wake up! Joel! No, please don't leave me!" Lizzie cried as she laid her head on Joel's chest.
Buddy's Perspective
Oh, daddy! Why are you asleep again? I know this is just a joke. I know you would propose to mommy after this, right? Oh wait, that was before!"No, no, no, no, NO!" Mommy says. No? What does that mean? It sounds bad.
Why are you crying, mother? Was it all my fault?
Daddy, please wake up! Don't leave us alone!
Please,
NO.
