Nature's Eye Candy
From my tower in the skies
look how the city lies
surrounded by a phalanx of green trees
Except today, with autumn's pallet,
iIt requires a further audit
of a view, bringing the strongest to their knees
Flaming gold and crimson hue
only a painter could construe ,
conceiving such a titillating tease
Yet observing passing days
it now assumed a different phase
As winter donned an overcoat with ease
The artist's canvass's now bare
brilliant colours very rare
and autumn's contribution to surcease
Today a different artist paints
with a set of new constraints
providing me a stunning new showpiece
