Chapter 5

Crystal's POV

My iPod alarm rang in my ear. I got up and turned it off while I woke up Skylar. It was three o'clock in the morning, and my dad wasn't even home yet, so we had a good chance of getting out. Skylar woke up and quickly got ready. I texted Nicholas to see if he was up and he was so that means we were all up getting ready for our trip. Skylar and I wore dark clothes so people wouldn't be able to see us in the dark, and also so it was harder to see us in the woods. After we were all ready we packed backpacks, we made sure we packed as lightly as possible.

After we had everything organized we snuck outside and met Nicholas outside his house. We all had eaten before we left so we were safe to leave. The three of us walked about a mile to the train station and bought three tickets. We all had a couple thousand dollars put together so we had no problem paying for tickets. We had to wait about thirty minutes for the next train, so we decided to just talk. "How long is the train ride going to last?" Nicholas asked me. "It should last like three hours." I honestly told him. "Oh my god I won't last that long!" Nicholas raised his voice a little. "Nicholas you have to be quiet or we'll get caught." Skylar whispered.

There was nobody out here, which makes me a little nervous. If there were people on the train we wouldn't look suspicious, but three thirteen year olds on a train with no parents is a little mischievous. By the time the train arrived it was four thirty. We quietly got on the train not making a sound. We gave the man our tickets and sat down. The ride was completely silent, not one noise was made.

Angel's POV

I sat there in the dark moving trailer, starving and thirsty. I looked so horrible with all of the cuts and bruises Randy gave me. I wanted to just kill him at the time. I never thought that this would have ended up this way. I couldn't stop looking back at the memory. It haunted me and I couldn't get rid of it.

I sat up in my room and texted Randy.

"Hey Randy, can you come over ;)"

"Sure babe, what's your address?"

"2314 Bragnis rd."

"I'll be over in a little bit"

I got up and dressed. I wonder if Crystal is going to be mad at me for going out without telling her. Well, she is already mad at me, so why would it matter? I put my Converse on and walked outside waiting for Randy to arrive. I wonder what my family would think. I mean my mom wouldn't care, and my dad probably wouldn't notice with his bad memory. The only one I really have to worry about is Crystal. I'm going to be running away with Randy, so I will never see her again. I bet she will be happy without me though.

Randy arrived in a dark blue truck. He got out of the truck and greeted me. "Hey baby, told you I'd come" Randy chuckled. "Hey!" I ran up to him and hugged him. He picked me up and spun me before we got in the truck. When we got into the truck he leaned over and kissed me passionately. I loved Randy so much. Randy pulled away and started the car up. As soon as the car started up the porch light came on. I saw Crystal running towards the truck in the mirror. "Randy, step on it!" I shouted before she could reach the truck. We had left and she stood there with a mad look on her face.

My head hit the trailer as Randy harshly stopped. He turned the truck off, were we where he was taking me already? We have been on the road for a while so I wouldn't be surprised. All of a sudden the trailer door opened. My eyes squinted as the sunlight came in. Randy threw a bag of potato chips and a soda at me, I caught the chips but the soda forcefully hit my stomach. I yelled in pain and Randy quickly shut the trailer door. We were apparently at a gas station, and if they found out I was back here, they would call the police.

Crystal's POV

The train came to a stop and the doors were open, and it was daylight outside. We all got up and left the train station. "Crystal, we'll go over here and search these areas and we will take these posters and show them around to people. The posters have pictures of Randy and Angel. We have to make sure that we are quick so people won't know who we are. We will have to pull our hair up and put it in a hat, and then we will wear heavy make-up." Skylar said in a leader's voice. "Ah, so if we end up on the news people won't recognize us! What will Nicholas wear to disguise himself?" I asked. She then pulled out a hat and sunglasses from her bag. "He can wear this. We will have to go door to door but only one person can go to a house, that way if they see the news here, they won't suspect us to be the kids that are missing."

I pulled my hair up and put it in a hat, my hat had black hair sticking out and it looked like it was my hair, the only difference is my hair isn't that straight and it's blonde. Skylar's hat-wig looked like mine. We both did each other's make-up. I couldn't recognize Skylar at all; she looked so different with make-up on. Nicholas put the hat and sunglasses on. He looked different too, I have never seen him in sunglasses, and he looked really different with them on.

We started going door to door and asking if they had seen either of them. We hadn't found anyone that knew or seen them, which made me think that maybe we came here for nothing. We all walked to a close McDonald's for lunch. We went inside and we ordered everything to-go and walked as we ate. We hadn't found anything all day, and we didn't talk much unless we were talking about our next spot.

Nicholas's POV

My feet hurt by walking all day and I had to pee real badly. Angel and I are not really friends, heck I barely like her. She is always a snob to me, and she only talks about the internet. Yet again, she is a girl and I guess a lot of girls are snobs. I probably would have helped look for her but I never thought I'd be running away for this girl. Trust me, this is the last thing I really want to be doing, but I'm keeping Crystal safe, and I would never let her do something so dangerous without me. Crystal is my world, and I would murder Angel if she got hurt or if I lost her by the stupid choices Angel decided to make.

My head itched by all of the sweat I sweated. I hate wearing this stupid hat, and I can barely see in these sunglasses. Its bad enough I have to wear regular glasses, and now I have to wear these dark glasses. Everything is blurry and dark, and I can't take the glasses off or Skylar will nag about it. I don't care how much pain I have to go through on this trip though, I'm doing it for Crystal. I love her and I would never let anything happen to her.

"Can we stop for dinner?" I asked. "Yeah Skylar, we have been walking all day and we haven't found anything, we need to eat." Crystal asked in her melodic voice. "Oh yeah I heard that the Taco Bell's in Georgia are really good. Want to stop there? We can eat inside." Skylar said. I am excited now, because Taco Bell is my favorite place to eat. Their Crunch Wrap Supremes are the best! "Yeah let's eat there!" I exclaimed. After dinner we found an area for us to sleep. I have never slept outside in my life and I never planned on it. Now we have no choice, which I am not excited about. Especially since we are in the woods, something could eat us all alive.

After we set up our sleeping bags, I decided to stay up for a while and talk to Crystal. Skylar was asleep so we were free to talk about anything. "I'm sorry Crystal but Skylar is getting on my nerves, she's being a little bossy." I said softly. "I know Nick, but she's really nice, and this is not her first trip, she knows more about this stuff than us. I think it's good that she is in control, we won't get caught, and she is slick." Crystal said. What? She doesn't have a problem with this? We both just lay down and cuddled. I love holding her in my arms, I feel complete. Not too long after, we both fell asleep.

There were some branches breaking around us, which woke me up. Skylar heard it too, but she wasn't worried like I was. "Skylar what was that?" I whispered. "Nicholas, don't be a chicken, it's just a squirrel!" Skylar laughed. Then her face completely froze as she looked behind me. "What is it Skylar?" I was completely scared. Skylar pointed behind me, so I turned around to see what it was.
