Chapter 1 The Suns Fire

Tiangou's tail swirled and twitched as his mother slept, he wanted her awake so he could begin his journey with his new owner. His siblings tossed and turned as they slept against his mother. His brother Cerberus kicked him, bit his sister with one head, chewed his brother with another, and snored with his third, all driving Tia just about crazy. Cerberus kicked Tia in the face hard, knocking him backwards. He yelped and hit the ground, his black fur ruffled against the sand of the small den, his small feet and body kicking and twisting to stand up. His siblings where so small but so strong, at least Cerby. Cerby pulled his paw back, and Tia sighed, but to soon because before his mouth shut, Cerby kicked his paw and it went right into Tia's mouth. "CERBY!" Cried the pup frantically, pulling away. Cerby looked up, all of his heads alert with ears perked, then he realized his paw was shoved into Tia's throat and pulled it away. "Sorry Tia!" Cerby barked, nudging his nose against the small pup, his bulky body lay down again, he drifted off to sleep leaving Tia stunned. "Goodnight Lazy mutt." He said, laughing. Tia noticed his paws suddenly go from redish black to golden, and turned around to see the bright tennis ball raising once more. "Mom!" He barked, running up to her and batting her face, causing his siblings to stir. "Mom mom!" He whined. "Hm..?" replied Laelaps, the hounds tail wagged lightly as she opened her eyes to see her son Tia, "Goodmorning" she said. "Good morning mommy!" Tia cried happily. Lae sat up, smiling to see the her pup up every morning to see the bright sun, as she had every day in space until Sirius broke the star that had encased her. "Lets watch the sunrise?" She said in an asking tone. "Sure!" Woofed Tia, the yellow sun on his chest began to glow against his dark fur. He turned and trotted out into the bright sunrise that covered the land he lived on with his family, he slept and stayed warm and dry in the hollow, a small den left by a fox his mother called Cadmean. As the sun rose higher, Tia's ears turned towards the most wonderful sound he had ever heard. "Was that good Ma'lord?" asked the small humanlike creature dancing on his deer like legs holding a wind instrument. "Yes, amazing." Replied a large human-like horse, who led a smaller horse with a horn that gleamed in a magic halter and lead rope. "Mama, what is that?" asked Tia, gesturing towards the small deer-man. "A faun." Said Lae, "The horse is a centaur, and the smaller white horned horse is a unicorn." "I like the unicorn." Said Tia. "She is pretty." replied Lae, smiling. "I would like to meet her!" said Tia happily, he rose from his sitting position. "I do not believe we should, for the bow and arrows he carries should be your worst fear." replied Lae. "Fear them for they can kill you, but do not let them destroy you." "What do you mean mother? How could an arrow kill me, but not destroy me within the task of killing me?" asked Tia, a little afraid. "If you are afraid, the arrows will destroy you mentally, but if you do not fear them they will kill you physically." She said, "Thats enough about arrows for now, young Tia, today is a big day for you." The unicorn was gone by time Tia stopped worrying about arrows, and then he responded, "Yes, I am very excited, as are my siblings, at least Cerby is." replied Tia, remembering this morning, groaning. Lae began to groom Tia with her tounge. "Mom!" cried out Tia in reluctentness, but didnt push against being cleaned. "Laelaps!" a loud caw came from the trees. Lae looked up to see Vu the phoenix. "Hello Vu." she said calmly, listening to the bird who's fire was out at the moment, leaving the bird black ashy colored. "Hi, me and the Fume are about to start burning the trees for fall to begin." He said, nodding over to some more black ashy colored birds waiting on yellow colored trees. The Phoenix fume stepped lightly back and forth trying to grab hold on branches waiting for Vu to return. "Thanks for letting us know, Vu." said Lae, "We'll be sure to clear out now." She turned away from the black bird and walked to the den to wake the pups. "Hi Vu!" Barked Tia, happy to see the bird who helped raise him. "Hello little woof." replied Vu, his feathers ruffled in joy to see how big the pup had grown since he was born a year ago. "You're almost as big as your mother!" Tia giggled and wagged his tail, putting his front paws on the trunk of the tree Vu was perched on. Cerby came running out of the den, he flopped as he ran like a grey bulldog, all three of his heads barking and drooling. "VU!" They all cried out, trying to jump and reach the bird to say hello. "Hello Cerby!" Vu said, lighting a small purple fire that wouldnt burn because the purple was his feeling of passion, showing his affections for the pups. Orthrus came over and sat next to them, one of his heads bit at the ears of Cerberus. "Hey!" cried Cerby, growling. Orthrus snickered, his snake tail curled around his doberman like body. Cwn Annwn yawned, and pulled herself out from the den, then turned to her mother and said "But mom! Five more minutes please!" "No Annwn, we got to leave before they start to burn the forest to clear the leaves and regrow trees." replied Lae. "Fine." she groaned, spinning her pink leafed collar. "Come on." said Lae, leading the pups to a river. The pups scampered after her, but Tia stopped and turned back to watch the phoenixes turn a deep red colored flame, the trees began to burn and so did the grass, the fire moved very quickly and spread across the hollow and grass, burning it to the ground, and making the leaves fall from the trees turning them orange and red and brown. He was so in awe that he forgot how quickly the fire was spreading, for it touched and burned Tias back leg. He yelped and leaped forward, chasing after his mother and siblings until they reached the river.
