"Ethan Grey, love." His smile is warm and his voice is heavily accented.
The lights are to bright. Vacant walls push in on her. The voice is familiar. A memory. Too bright, she thinks. She pulls at her hair, as the voice bounces in her mind, heavy and distorted.
"Ethan Grey."
"Ethan Grey."
"Ethan Grey."
The voice becomes a chant now, and she screams. A gut wrenching scream. Tears fall off her face. Stop!! And it does. The voices quiet to a whisper. She dry heaves as the name scrapes the insides of her mind. Who is he to me?, she thinks.
"You'll see." They reply. A wave of sickness, knocks her to her knees. No! she cries out. She knows what happens next. Like it has been for the past few hours. She clutches her throat, gasping for air. And then it happens. The air changes. Condenses and hardens. Pushing and shoving. The walls close in on her now. And she screams.

The gurgling sound is horrific. She screams. And screams again. An everlasting note. Her voice raw and dry, as she claws for air.
"It's ok." He says. She looks at Aiden for the first time and all the memories of the event rebounded in her mind. The chilling water. No air. Drowning. The splatter of blood on the outside of the tank. And then darkness. How was she alive? She wasn't meant to be. Am I dead?, she thinks.
She wasn't sure if Aiden dragged her from the water but his hair is damp.
"Why?" Is all she rasps as her body convulses. She bites a cheek to hold back the whimper. She reaches for his hand and grips it tightly.
"Where is he?" She says quickly, before she can be pulled back under.
"For now. Gone." He says, but there is no relief in his voice.
"I will explain later." He says tiredly.
Her throat tightens. And her vision darkens as she is pulled back down. Will she ever come back out?

"Hope." They say. The voices are intense but less painful. The dream is different. It was never different.
"He is something to you." They say again, prompting Hope.
"I don't know what you mean. Help me." She cries.
"Only you can discover the truth. You have been lied to." They say. Her blood runs cold when she hears the ending. Was another part of her life a lie? Did she love and loose all for nothing? She didn't know.
"Why can't you tell me. Give me a clue." She says desperately.
The white walls are coming. They squeeze in on her now. And she yells out before she is yanked to reality. The white walls become an image now. A baby. Wrapped in a blue blanket, he looks innocent. Who is he? Is he Ethan? What is he!? She is about to squeeze her eyes shut again but something catches her eye. A name. On the baby's wristband is a name scrawled in the parent section. The name is obscured. She can't see the words but she knows it's important. Something that she must know. The pain is in her bones. Burning so bright she knows she must find out. What is it? She doesn't understand. She grips at the last piece of reality as her mind tumbles. She wouldn't give in. Not yet. She fights her body, struggling to stay in the white place. The lies of others have truly destroyed her.

Then she sees it.

The name. It's Hope's mother.

Hope yells out. It couldn't be. How!? Her life was a lie. She wished she could stay in the blankness of it all. When the walls push in on her she cowers. Even though she knows she has to face it. Reality. The surface pools before her. The uncertainty piling in her mind. She knows she must face the consequences of others lies. She takes an unsteady step forwards and resurfaces to the place that holds her fate on a thin thread.

But what if it slips?
