Hopes pov:
His arm snakes around my waist as soon as I slam the door. I jump in fright as I meet his grey eyes, and my heart pounds in my chest. My hair sticks to my temple and I brush it away."Are you ok." He murmurs in my hair.
I'm not, I think.
"Yeah...I'm fine." I say and my voice cracks.
But before he can argue other wise, the lights flicker before we are emerged in darkness. By the time I had got home the sun had already sunk below the horizon, leaving the world in twisted darkness. I cling onto Aiden as my heart pounds erratically. The darkness engulfs the room and I shudder. I can't help think of the darkness I felt in the water. The way it twisted around my limbs and suffocated me. The darkness had never left. My only reminder of what was real, was the pain and the darkness. If I was in tat place any longer I would loose myself.
"That's strange." Aiden murmurs. "I might just go check the fuse box, will you be ok here?"
I nod in the darkness even though he can't see me.
As his footsteps trail after him in the darkness, I press my back into the wall as a tear escapes my eye. I let it trail down my face and slide off my chin. Everything so good in the world was a lie. But Aiden wasn't and for that I was glad. Before my thoughts wander a loud cracks makes my head snap up and I stare out the window into the dark night. My breathing wavers as it see him. His figure leans against the tree submerged in the darkness. I don't need to ask but I do anyway.
"Aiden." My rough throat calls. But I know it isn't him.
I'm alone and Armaros is here.
Before I can call for help, the figure launches a large black object at the window. Before my feet can move away from the window, the rock smashes the glass, sending me sprawling on the ground. I scream out as glass jabs my body and as a force pushes me down onto the glass. My mouth opens in a silent scream. My eyes dart around the room. Broken glass litters the ground like deadly ice drops. Fresh blood soaks into my carpet as I lay on the ground looking at the ceiling. I hear Aiden calling my name and sense his erratic pulse. I pull myself upwards into a crawling position, and blood drips from my wound. I can feel my eyelids twitching and my body begging me to give in. But I don't. I haul myself upwards.
"Hope." Aiden calls, rushing over to me.
"I'm ok." I say my voice wobbles.
"What happened!"
"Armaros." I mumble, clinging into his arm.
"Your hurt." He says "Sit down."
As my battered body lowers to the ground I notice the rock on the ground. It's dark and hard surface makes me shudder. Among its dark surface the white patch stands out. Strange dark rocks don't have white, I think.
As I pull on on the white it gives way into a tiny slip of paper. My mouth forms an "O" as I clutch the blood stained paper. I pass it to Aiden and all but see his eyes widen in the darkness. He reads the note out loud,
"The game has just begun. Someone is going to DIE soon. You'll never even see it coming."
To be continued...
