Dean
"Holy-oh my- you-you're alive" I sputtered, pulling back to look at her. Sure enough she was still there, that familiar smile, the twinkling brown eyes, her round nose and high cheekbones. It was still her, alive and here.
"Emma" Sam smiled, a tear slipping down his cheek as it was his turn to pull her into a warm embrace. She laughed softly, squeezing Sam tight. I was in shock, my lungs burning as I had forgotten to breath. "How are you alive? When did you-?" Sam shook his head in disbelief, Emma pulling back with a smile.
"Honestly, I'm just as confused as you are. I woke up and everything was pitch black. I reached up and I-I was in a box. Well, a coffin. I managed to get out, only having to climb through the dirt, hence my gorgeous appearance" Emma gestured down to her dirt covered cloths.
"You thinking angel?" I whispered to Sam, noticing some similarities in her stories compared to mine when Cas had raised me from hell. Sam nodded, turning back to Emma.
"Angel? You think they brought me back to help fight Lucifer? To end the apocalypse?" Emma asked with wide, curious eyes, my heart breaking as I realized she didn't know. I sighed heavily, exchanging glances with Sam.
"Emma, you've been dead for-a while" I tried, Emma's head tilting in confusion. "Almost a year in a half" I admitted, watching Emma's face crumple. She gasped, her hands trembling as she raised one to press against her forehead.
"No, I-it was only-I died-" Emma shook her head, trying to account for all the missing time. "I don't understand" she trembled, looking up at us with sad eyes. "I'm almost twenty years old" Emma breathed and I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. I hadn't even thought of that.
"I'm so sorry Emma. I know how upsetting this is, but you're alive again. This is a miracle" Sam smiled, placing a warm hand on her shoulder.
"Wait, so what happened? I mean, is it over? The apocalypse? I mean, it must be considering the world hasn't ended and you two are still alive" Emma spoke fast, clearly thrilled to be back.
"Um, yeah. Lucifer is back in his cage. It worked, just like you said" Sam nodded, Emma's forehead creasing in confusion.
"Wait, then how....you're alive" Emma stated it as apposed to questioning it. Sam nodded, looking to me for help.
"Yeah, well, Cas managed to pull Sam out from Lucifer's cage but dropped his soul" I explained, Emma's eyes going wide as she stared at Sam. "We got it back, Sam suffered from flashbacks and a whole bin of new problems but we've got it under control now. Crisis adverted" I explained, Emma's shoulder slumping as she sighed in relief.
"Good, good, that's amazing" Emma breathed, running a hand through her hair. "And my friends? The pack? How are they enjoying senior year? How's Stiles?" Emma shot many questions at us, my blood running cold. I looked to Sam but he seemed to be having a similar reaction. No one wanted to break it to her. Who could blame us? "What? Guys, c'mon? What's going on?" she pleaded, searching our eyes.
"Well, after you...died we left to fight Lucifer. Sam died and I spent a year-ish alone, talking to them by phone. Then Sam came back and an Alpha pack came to Beacon Hills along with a druid witch" I began, wincing at how crazy that sounded.
"The darache?" Emma gasped, a laugh almost escaping me. Of course she knew that.
"Yes. Anyway, Sam and I fought to get his soul back and we coached the pack about how to get through it. Everyone was okay but in order so save lives, they had to do this sacrificial ritual that would leave a permanent darkness on their hearts" I tried to keep it simple.
