The feed back I have had in the last few days is outstanding and I love you all for it <3 Keep it up .

Chapter Fourteen:

Dear Marley

My baby girl,

I am very sorry for everything that I have put you through. For all the challenges you have had to fight on your own without me. Most of all I’m sorry for the job I’ve laid on your shoulders. If  your reading this it means that you are in some kind of danger. It means that I have failed to do the one think I set out to do. To protect you. To protect you from not only everyone in the world but most of all to protect you from yourself. I’m so very sorry that I couldn’t stay with you to see you grow up. I wished more then anything I could but with great responsibility comes great challenges and . I made it my goal that I would do anything in my power to stop you from knowing that you were the protector of this world. But that is one more thing I failed.

I have failed you. As a father, as a friend and as someone who should protect you from the world. My one task in life and I couldn’t do it. So for that I beg your forgiveness. Because I failed in doing this I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you. I have left you in the care of one of your protectors. He was the only one allowed to have a child with out it looking suspicious, Leaving you was one of the hardest things I had to do in life but know that I would do it again in a heart beat if I meant that your were a little bit more safe.

I use to dream about you growing up with your mother and I. You would be daddy’s little girl. I would be there the first time you rode a bike, the first time you went to school. I would be there the day you went on your first date and then came home so excited because you had had your first kiss. I would be there to go and hurt the boy that broke your heart and then I would take you for ice cream to help you get over it.

Most of all I would be there to talk when you needed a friend. I wouldn’t judge you I would love you for who you are. Now weather you are reading this as a child or an adult or someone in between. Remember that I am still here fighting for your freedom. I would never wish upon you the tasks that have been asked of me. But if for some unknown reason I failed in that task to remember that you are strong. If you got anything from your mother then I hope you got her courage. She wouldn’t let anyone run over her and I prey that you won’t either.

I guess the best way to end this would be by saying that if you are reading this it means that danger is near. People are coming for you Marley and you need to be strong because they won’ t go down without a battle. Your protectors will ultimately be there for you and if Emma Kingsley has taught those sons of hers anything then I know that you will have someone brave to stand beside you. That Kingsley family is one family you can trust my dear. Of course I was only around to see a few of them born but I know that they will become great kids. Maybe even one of them will be the right boy for you.

With that I better go,

I love you with all my heart,

Be ready my dear because what ever is coming is going to be bigger then we ever expected. I can feel it.

Love, Dad

I folded the piece of paper up again and stuffed it into my back pocket. I smiled through the tears, I had someone that had always loved me and someone that was always there for me. Before i couldn't see it but now i could. My father might not have been there in person but he was always there in spirit.

"Your father was a great man, the day he had to leave you was the hardest of his life. It broke his heart." Gramps said sitting down next to me. He handed me a hot drink and i took a sip.

"I need to find him, if something is big is coming then wouldn't we be better to fight it together?"

"Your probably right there but I can't help you. I swore years ago that I wouldn't go after him even if  it was for you." He answered looking out onto the forest. We were sitting on the wooden decking facing the road we had came up from. Everything was silent, it was as if everything was waiting for the plan.

"If you were me what would you do?"

"I would listen to my heart,"

"What if you weren't sure what it was saying?" I asked turning to look up at the sky.

"Then i would find somewhere that the answer was clear," It was like he was speaking in riddles, not giving me a definite answer. I sighed and ran a hand threw my hand.

"Who will be able to help me then? if you cant," I asked.

"A man lives up in the hut behind here, he is the only one that knows the true identity of your father. I’m not sure if he will tell you but he is probably the one that could," I nodded and stood up leaving me cup on the ground.

"Ill be back," with that I took of in a jog towards the direction of the hut. It took me a good 10 minutes. When I reached the hut the man was already standing outside. He wasn’t only like I thought he would be. Surprisingly he was actual quite young maybe in his 30's. He smiled when he saw me approaching but didn't say a word. he took off at a jog heading into the forest.

I followed him, keeping a metre or so between us. I followed him without complaint, we went up a track until we reached a clearing with a small lake in the middle. He halted next to the lake and sat next to it, crossing his legs. I sat next to him and waited knowing that when he was ready he would speak.

"Your father is a great man and an even better warrior. He will protect this world there is no question about it." he started after a few moments of silence. "The real question is are you good enough to stand beside him,"

"Yes," he chuckled quietly.

"Now as much as I would love to take your word for it. I will need proof," he stood up and walked towards the centre of the field. "When you can take me down three times in a row i will tell you all you wish to know,"

I had a feeling that he was going to know how to fight so I when I stood up i didn't move forward to fight him. No matter how much I had learnt recently I knew that I wasn't a great fighter, I was just good enough to handle myself.

"the first step of becoming a true fighter is knowing when you will not be able to win a battle. Meet me here tomorrow morning at five, I will teach you the true ways so that one day you can be called the protector,"
