Brandon's POV

The night of prom was quite nerve-wracking, but I was okay because I knew I was going with Abby.

My family was more excited that I was going to prom than me and was especially happy that I was going with someone I liked. In the blur of the excitement, my parents said they were okay with me staying over at Abby's.

As I stepped out the door, Shane caught up with me and spun me to face him.

"Here," he grabbed my wrist, "open up your hand."

I did.

He placed a condom in my palm. I looked up at him and furrowed my eyebrows.

He smirked and curled my fingers around it. "Get laid for me, alright?"

I shoved the packet into my inner jacket pocket. I wasn't going to deny that I might need it. "Thanks," I murmured, embarrassed.

He cupped my shoulder and gave me this weird proud look. "I can't believe me baby brother's gonna get laid for the first time after prom," he wiped away fake tears, over exaggerating his emotions, "I'm-I'm so overjoyed!"

I laughed and pulled away from him, "fuck off."

I saw Abby sitting on her front doorstep before I pulled up to her house. She was wearing this poofy-purple dress and I was already imagining her twirling around in it. I parked in front of the house, got out of the car and walked up to her.

"What are you doing out here, angel?" I asked.

She sighed, "Bradly and my parents are fighting over the fact that Bradly's trying to take Andrew to prom."

"Oh."

Awkward silence.

"You look amazing," she finally said again, "only my lil' flower can pull off a rented tux."

"Hmm, I haven't decided what my angel looks like yet," I responded and stuck my hand out. She smiled and took it, pulling herself up. "You look stunning, as always," I grinned before kissing her cheek.

We found Ronnie, Mark and Dave almost immediately after arrival.

Ronnie was with Macy, Dave was with the girl he was yapping on about a couple months ago who he introduced as Sammy, and Mark was with a girl who introduced herself as Claire.

We sat around talking and getting to know Dave and Mark's dates for a good chunk of the night.

"I didn't even think Brandon would ever show up to prom," Ronnie laughed at one point, "hell, I didn't think I would be taking a freshman to prom, man, have things change."

"Probably wouldn't have happened if Brandon and I weren't caught by his mom," Abby chuckled.

"Worth it!" I giggled.

Abby's POV

Both Brandon and I were not dancers, so we mutually agreed not to dance until the last song.

We secretly poked fun at the awkward couples on the dance floor and then poked fun at the guys and their dates.

"I'm so glad I'm with you," Brandon huffed dreamily in the middle of our fun.

I scrunched my nose up at him. "Glad I'm with you too, lil' flower."

Over his shoulder, I saw Ronnie gently kiss Macy on the forehead as he rocked her side to side in his arms.
