Yato walked up the steps of hiyori's house and knocked on the door. He straightened his scarf nervously. He didn't know what was going to happen today or even what to say to her after last night.

Hiyori opened the door fast and smiled at the god, "hey."

"Hey. You ready to go?"

"You bet," she steps out the door and skips down the sidewalk, "come on! Hurry up!"

The God and the girl walk side by side to the mall. They avoided eye contact most of the time. Yato couldn't stop thinking about last night. Then he felt something soft and gently touch his hand. He looks over at hiyori. She is blushing. Her hand must've accidentally brushed his. His face turns red and his heart beats faster.

"So, what do you need at the mall?" Yato asks her.

"Well, there's the fall school dance coming up. I don't really want to go but, my friends are insisting. It'll be weird. I don't even have a date. Anyways I have to get a dress then we can go get some food too." She smiles up at him.

A strange thought crosses his mind then. He was thinking about what if he was her date to the dance. He tries to get rid of it. He couldn't be her date. He's a god, "when is the dance?"

"Ugh... It's next Saturday so in a week."

Hiyori gets a strange idea in her head. She thought about if Yato was her date. Her heart started beating faster. She tried to imagine him dressed up in a tux with his blazing blue eyes. She blushes at her thoughts. Then she frowns. He couldn't be here date even if she wanted him to. He's a god. Her friends would forget him or not even notice he was there and the school would ask too many questions about him.

"What's wrong?" Yato says breaking her out of her day dreaming.

"Nothing, just thinking is all," she answers nervously.

"You can talk to me."

"I know. I'm just nervous about the dance," she half lied. She was nervous about it.

They walk into the mall then, "hey let's get some smoothies first. I know a good place in here. They make the best," she tells him.

He nods and they head on their way. She gets a strawberry banana smoothie and he gets Oreo extreme. He takes a sip and his taste buds explode.

"That is really good," he says.

"Right, well let's go find a dress. I read want your opinion, which is part of the reason why you're here," she laughs at her self for a second.

"That's fine, no worries."

------

They found the perfect dress and head out to eat. They just grab some sushi and head over to the park. They sit down in the grass under a tree.

"Hey.... Yato...." She says alittle uncomfortably.

"What?"

"I'm.... I know that it seems we've been avoided the topic about last night. The truth or dare game.... I kind of want to talk about it.... But, it's okay if you don't."

'Oh no.... What is she going to say? What am I going to say to what she says? I don't want to ruin our friendship...damn Kofuka... What are you thinking? Me and her cant be together....' Yato thinks to himself, "we can talk about it," he didn't sound so sure.

"I don't know why Kofuka wants us to be like that... You know..."

"I don't either..."

"Yato... Do you..." She stops and blushes.

"Do I what?"

"Do you like me like that?" Hiyori had a tough time getting the out.

"I... Um.... I'm a god Hiyori..."

"I know... I just was wondering... Is that your answer then?" She didn't know why but, her heart hurt at his words.

"Yes..." His heart clenched with pain.

"Okay, yeah your right. That's what I was thinking. I was just making sure that's all," then she started to shake. Hiyori tried so hard to hide it but, he noticed.

"Are you alright? Your shaking..." He started to reach for her.

"Yeah! I'm great! I don't know why I am!" She moved away from him and tried to laugh it off, 'do I love him? Why am I acting like this?'

He looks at her with concern.

"I'm fine! Really! Anyways I should probably get going," she says as she gets up but, something stops her. She notices Yato hand in hers pulling her back down to sit, "Yato..." She says breathlessly.

"Hiyori.... Don't go."

She nods and sits back down. His smell consumes her nose. She sighs happily, 'he smells nice... My favorite smell.'

He was about to pull his hand out of hers but, she held on. Tightening her grip. He looks at the half phantom girl confused. She was smiling at him sweetly. Her pink eyes were glossy. His eyes open wide. He didn't know what he should do next so, she rests her head on his shoulder.

"Don't ever leave Yato." She tells him.

"I won't..." His cheeks turn slightly pink.

"And I will never forget you so don't worry about that."

"Sure..." He says.

Her head is off his shoulder then and she's looking directly at him, "I won't forget you."

"I know. You said that."

"Then why don't you believe me?"

He didn't know what to say to that.

"I can try and spend more time with you if you want. If that'll make you feel better..."

He blushes, "I... Um... Yeah okay."

"Good," she says satisfied and rests her head back on his shoulder. Inhaling his scent some more.

They sit there like that for awhile longer. Talking about small stuff and Yukine. He tells her about the shrine he wants and how he wants it look like. The. It was starting to get dark and Yato walked her home. When he was alone after she closed the front door. He walked and could t stop thinking about Hiyori. He tried to think about  if they could have a future together but, no idea came to mind of a way it would work out. He sighs, giving up. He was falling in love with her and it scared him.
