Lucy's POV:
The sun, bright as usual, rose from the sky, bringing light and happiness all around. The birds chirped their happy chirps and the squirrels nuzzled along the branches of the oak, still trying to absorb the newly grown leaves and the morning of a new day.

My eyes opened, then closed. The bed sheets were warm. Very warm.
I heard a knock on my door, "Princess? It is time to wake up. His majesty is waiting for you in the dining room. Princess? Princess, are you awake?" I knew who the voice belonged to. It belonged to one of the maids, Virgo was her name. She always had a way of waking me up that made me resist the urge to stay in bed.

I yawned and pushed the bedsheets out of my body and stretched. I then walked over to my closet, thinking about what my attire should be for the day. I grabbed a blue gown from the closet and changed. Virgo came in a few minutes later to help me with jewelry and such.

"A guest is coming to the castle to discuss matters with the king. He wants you there with him, so you know what to do when you become queen. Speaking of queen, your coronation is next week, isn't it?" Virgo said as she straightened my gown. She's right. My coronation is next week and I'm not even sure I'm ready. I don't think I'll ever be.

"Indeed," I responded. Virgo stopped straightening my gown and looked at the mirror in front of me.

She smiled, "You look just like her, Princess. You will be a great queen." Great, more pressure. That's just what I need. Still, I smiled anyway and gave Virgo a hug. She acted surprised, but then hugged me back. For as long as I could remember, Virgo had been by my side. She always helped me with everything, even the times where I was depressed, which was often. "Sir Cancer will be here to style your hair, soon--" There was a knock on the door. Virgo turned and clapped her hands together, "That must be him! I'll get the door," She continued. A sighed and laughed a little.

"Thanks, Virgo," I said in return. The door opened and up came Sir Cancer with his box full of hair tools.

I walked to the dining room, all dressed for the occasion, my blue gown swaying as I walked. My father already started eating his breakfast when I arrived. He was wearing his usual King attire: a red button up shirt with gold buttons, a scarlet cape with white ruffles at the bottom, jet black boots, golden pants, and his golden crown.

I sat on the seat across from him and ate my breakfast, trying to stay as mannerly as possible.

"Virgo has told you about the guest coming over, yes?" The King started the conversation.

I stopped eating and answered, "Yes. She also told me that I am to accompany you while you discuss matters with this person. Father, just who is this guest anyway?" I was curious. We usually never have guests very often at the castle, especially at the castle.

"You are about to find out, my dear princess. Finish up and meet me at the throne room. That is where our discussion will be held," My father answered. I watched him wipe his mouth with a napkin and leave the dining room, walking towards the throne room.

I glanced at my breakfast, took two final bites, then quickly followed my father to the throne room.

Whoever this guest was, I didn't get a good feeling about it. No one ever comes to the castle to discuss matters about anything. Everyone should know that. Ever since that day--after all--ever since that day, everything about my home and my family changed. This was no different.
